BROKEN BY THE SCREAM have shared a video for “Parallel Universe,” their new single released through Metal Blade Records. The Japanese metalcore group follows “花鏑[HANAKABURA]” with a song about how love and individual choices can change the course of a life.

The track features vocalists Tsubaki Nanaougi, Shizuku Mikogami, Yayoi Takayashiki and Io Nozukidaira. Metal Blade’s announcement describes its musical approach as a combination of soaring melodies, screams and heavy metallic instrumentation, retaining the contrasts at the center of the group’s four-vocalist format.

Explaining the song’s premise, BROKEN BY THE SCREAM said: “Just as the truth of heliocentrism once overturned a world where geocentrism was considered common sense, falling in love can completely transform a life that once revolved around oneself. ‘What if I had done things differently?’ ‘What if I had chosen another path?’ As we struggle, hesitate, and make choices among countless possibilities, each decision leads us toward a different future. ‘Parallel Universe’ is a song about love, choice, and the different worlds that may unfold beyond them.”

“Parallel Universe” follows the group’s first release for Metal Blade Records, “花鏑[HANAKABURA].” The new single and accompanying video continue that label relationship; the announcement does not identify a forthcoming album.

The release also follows BROKEN BY THE SCREAM’s 2026 European and UK touring. According to Metal Blade’s announcement, the run comprised thirteen performances across nine countries, with seven solo headline shows selling out. The group also performed on the Louder Stage at Wacken Open Air. Those completed appearances provide the live background to the new release, rather than an announcement of additional confirmed shows.
