CHAOSBAY’s “Egosystem” video accompanies the Berlin band’s signing with Metal Blade Records. The single is available now and is the third preview of their forthcoming album, due in March 2027, according to the announcement distributed by Earsplit PR.
Frontman Jan Listing produced the track. Explaining its musical starting point, CHAOSBAY state: “The idea of the track was to combine the reggaeton feeling derived from hip-hop and nu-metal with catchy metalcore hooks and riffs.” The single follows “How Does It Make You Feel?” from July and “The Lost Kids” from September.
The announcement also introduces a “soft” version of “Egosystem,” continuing an approach used for the preceding singles. It describes these versions as exploring melody, atmosphere and emotional nuance within the band’s sound. For “Egosystem,” that alternate arrangement takes an indie approach, incorporating themes from other songs and elements of progressive rock.
The label partnership arrives as CHAOSBAY prepare their next full-length. Discussing the signing, the band say: “We’re incredibly happy to have been signed by such a renowned label as Metal Blade with our new material. A team that knows how to combine the classic roots of the genre with the modern world of metal and create something new from it is a perfect fit for a band like us.”
They add: “We’re really looking forward to everything we’ll do together in the future and to all the songs that are still to come. It’s an honor to become part of the international heavy music scene, and we’ll give everything we have to push our sound forward and redefine what it can be.”
CHAOSBAY combine progressive metal and metalcore, with the supplied announcement highlighting both technical passages and melodic material. Their performance background includes Wacken Open Air and appearances alongside ERRA, Annisokay, Siamese, Vended and Emil Bulls. Further music and touring are planned for 2027.
The lineup comprises Jan Listing on lead vocals and guitars, Alexander Langner on guitars, Matthias Heising on bass and Patrick Bernath on drums. The band photograph supplied with the announcement is credited to Michael Weniger.
