A full stream of Bloodsurge presents the two sides of DET and CRITICAL DEFIANCE’s split mini-album: three new tracks and a live recording from the Finnish trio, followed by three new tracks and an acoustic instrumental from the Chilean thrash band. NoCleanSinging.com hosts the exclusive stream.
Dying Victims Productions has announced an international October 23 release on CD and 12-inch vinyl. The split was arranged to coincide with the bands’ joint autumn tour.
For DET, whose name stands for “Destructive Elite Terror,” the material continues the direction established on their debut album for Dying Victims. Their contribution took shape in the spring, with the band explaining that “we wanted to tighten the screws even further.” “Suspiria,” “Necromancer” and “Mutation” precede a live performance of an early demo song, recorded at the Catalonia Extreme Gathering festival in Spain earlier in the announcement year.
CRITICAL DEFIANCE describe their contribution as a collection that found its common purpose through the split. “These creations were not originally conceived to coexist,” the band state, “yet this split provided the exact space they needed to acquire a shared identity – technical execution, acoustic contrast, the exploration of darker and more extreme territories, and the overwhelming drive of thrash metal in its most violent form.”
The acoustic instrumental “Will Of Steel” provides the quieter contrast within their four-track sequence, alongside “Kill Off,” “No Born” and “Say No More.” Together, the two contributions make an eight-track mini-album.
- DET – Suspiria

The announcement’s tracklisting names DET’s live song “Death Night,” while its descriptive text calls it “Death Knight”; the supplied announcement leaves that title discrepancy unresolved.
