DUNGEON SERPENT have announced their second album, Lamentations Of The Shadowkingdoms, for October 30, 2026 through Profound Lore Records. The Vancouver, British Columbia melodic death metal act's six-track record features Arawn on vocals, guitars, keyboards and bass, with drummer Bhraonáin and violinist Anju Singh contributing to its expanded instrumentation.

The album is DUNGEON SERPENT's first for Profound Lore Records and follows their debut, World Of Sorrows. The announcement describes five years of work leading into the new recording, which continues the world introduced on the first album while broadening its musical arrangements.

According to the supplied announcement, the six compositions differ in tone but share thematic connections and are intended to flow together as a whole. It describes faster playing than on the debut and a wider range of influences, including black metal, brutal death metal, jazz and grind. Those descriptions frame the album's approach rather than constitute an independent assessment of the recording.

Keyboards drawing on the Hellenic tradition and Singh's violins form part of the orchestral arrangements outlined in the announcement. Singh is a string player and contemporary composer associated with The Nausea; Bhraonáin is also associated with Fake Dust. Their contributions accompany the vocals, string instruments and keyboards performed by Arawn.

Damian Herring of Horrendous mixed and mastered Lamentations Of The Shadowkingdoms at Subterranean Watchtower Studios. Marc Potts created the cover artwork. The announced release formats are LP, CD and digital, with the press announcement also listing preorders and presaves through Profound Lore.

The album's six tracks are:

  1. A Wanderer's Dirge/Ashes From The Temple
  2. Festering Malediction (The Fifth Kingdom)
  3. Rainland's Elegy (The Lamentations Of The Shadowkingdoms)
  4. Garden Of Grotesque Forms (Act I. Lineage Of Failure, Act II. Dreamlike Odyssey)
  5. Tranquil Sleep Of The Dead, Endless Seas Aflame
  6. Cast Through (Outro)
