DYING LIGHT have released “Dust,” the first single from their forthcoming album The Wicked Crow, with a stream available on YouTube. The single arrived digitally on October 26, 2026. According to the announcement supplied by C Squared Music, the New Jersey melodic metal band's album is scheduled for independent release on April 23, 2027.

In their statement about the song, DYING LIGHT focus on its lyrical confrontation: “The lyrics paint a tense, cinematic scene centered on a person holding lethal power in a moment of emotional emptiness. An emotional plea gives way to a tense exchange. The victim recognizes the assailant as an empty vessel but also recognizes that outside powers may yet intervene. For one person everything is turned to nothing in one lethal moment. Is it the killer or the victim who was killed?”

The accompanying press release describes “Dust” as moving from a bluesy guitar riff and bass-driven verses into melodic choruses built around call-and-response vocals. These descriptions concern the song; the linked YouTube stream is a distributor-delivered upload on the DYING LIGHT Topic channel.

For The Wicked Crow, DYING LIGHT describe an approach that retains melody alongside heavier tunings: “This particular album was meant to be heavy with some drop tunings while holding on to our melody and hooks. We hope to plant an ear bug in every song. The lyrical content is always important. We try to tell a story in every song.”

The announcement credits Charlie Berezansky at Rival Sound with producing, mixing and mastering The Wicked Crow. “Dust” appears third in the album's announced nine-track sequence.
