ENTER SHIKARI have shared Live From The Golden Age, a four-track video session featuring the first live airing of recent single ‘Higher Ground’. Directed by Tom Pullen, the session takes the performances into an abandoned manor, with digital screens placed over its windows to change the surrounding imagery.
Frontman Rou Reynolds explains the approach: ‘In typical ENTER SHIKARI fashion, we didn’t want to just do a standard “live in the studio session”. So we broke into an abandoned manor in the middle of nowhere, and painstakingly placed digital screens over the windows in an attempt to present the tracks in different environments despite the limits of the space’.
George Perks recorded and mixed the audio for the session. The four-song format brings ‘Higher Ground’ into a live setting following its release as a single; the announcement does not name the other three tracks.
The announcement, supplied by Cosa Nostra PR, also reports that ENTER SHIKARI recently announced an indefinite hiatus through Instagram. It does not reproduce that statement or specify when the hiatus begins, while separately outlining the band’s November UK and EU headline arena tour.
The European dates begin on November 3 at Hamburg’s Sporthalle. The itinerary includes Düsseldorf’s Mitsubishi Halle, described in the announcement as the band’s largest German headline show, with a capacity of 7,500. The UK leg opens at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena on November 13, followed by appearances in Cardiff, Hull, Glasgow and Manchester.
The tour concludes with Alexandra Palace shows in London on November 20 and 21; the announcement identifies the November 21 date as sold out. Holding Absence and The Callous Daoboys will support both the EU and UK legs.
