LIMINAL SPIRIT’s Forfeiture Hymns is scheduled for November 6, 2026, with ‘The Initiate’ introduced as the album’s first single. According to the announcement supplied by ClawHammer PR, Doomed & Stoned premiered the track. The artist’s Bandcamp album listing confirms the release date and offers a digital preorder with one track available immediately, followed by the complete album upon release.

The Milwaukee project’s new album continues the fictional narrative established on Unwell. Composer and multi-instrumentalist Jerry Hauppa describes the relationship between the two records in the announcement: “This is a continuation and recontextualizing of the story from the previous album Unwell.”

Where the earlier album followed Phillip Hastings during his final days in a nursing home, the new record examines his influence through other characters. The announcement describes songs concerning people whose encounters with Phillip lead them toward suicide, placing guilt, abuse, obsession and the consequences of his actions within the album’s fictional framework.

“Each track is the story of one of those people and how his influence steered them toward ending their lives. To flesh out the record, I had to create all of these people and develop their motivations, which I then used to create the melodic characteristics of each song,” Hauppa explains.

Hauppa also connects the project’s musical approach to his experience in extreme metal, describing a move toward doom, industrial music and drone. “I wanted to do a project that utilized my sense of melody established through various extreme metal outlets but through the lens of a more doom/industrial/drone approach to create music that felt like it was exposing a kind of purgatory, with each song guiding the listener through that purgatory into a place more grounded by the end,” he says.

ClawHammer PR identifies Forfeiture Hymns as LIMINAL SPIRIT’s fourth studio recording and second full-length. Its eleven-song sequence is:

  1. A Mother’s Instinct
  2. Unwanted
  3. The Initiate
  4. Three
  5. Apoptosis
  6. Ensnarer’s Lament
  7. Two
  8. Do No Harm
  9. Sins of the Father
  10. The Parting Glass
  11. Four

The announcement credits Hauppa with writing and performing all songs, as well as producing and mixing the album. His listed instruments and programming roles include Kite guitar, fretless guitar, synth, vocoder, sampling and drum programming. Jeff Wojtysiak handled mastering, and James Becker is credited with the album artwork.
