ÓSSERP will release their five-track EP Les Homilies Del Desengany on November 13, 2026, with guest vocals from Gusi, Anton of Mutilated Judge and Jordi of Eight Ounces. The Catalan extreme metal band's announcement arrives four years after Els Nous Cants De La Sibiŀla and outlines a record concerned with humanity's response to disillusionment.
The three guests appear on separate songs. Gusi, whose other bands include Graveyard, Sanctuarium and Morbid Flesh, contributes to ‘La Llum Que S’Ofega’. Anton appears on ‘Mans Deformades No Conjuren Deus’, while Jordi contributes to ‘Dins La Foscor Torno A Existir’.
In the announcement, ÓSSERP identify their musical reference points as “the sounds of brutal death metal from the late 1990s and early 2000s, particularly bands such as Deeds Of Flesh, Inveracity, Disavowed, and Devourment”. The band describe the new material as arriving “with more complex riffs and rhythms, a more expansive sound blended with their usual death-grind melting pot, without sacrificing the darkness, intensity and epic moments of bands such as Dead Congregation”.
Dani Gallego and Gerard Porqueres produced the EP. Porqueres also recorded, mixed and mastered it at his Heartwork Recording Studios during February and March 2026. The release announcement lists Second Choice Records, Eternal Juggernaut Records, Hecatombe Records, Kremón Records, Broca Records and Reek Of Records.
Vali and Dani wrote the lyrics, a first for the band according to the announcement. The conceptual focus develops ÓSSERP's existing imagery while examining the feelings that arise from disillusionment and how humanity deals with them.
Indonesian illustrator MAFXII created the cover artwork. The announcement identifies its central figure as Apate, the Greek goddess of deceit and fraud, and explains that the composition is based on an image from Ancient Greece, with ÓSSERP's seven serpent heads emerging behind her. MAFXII's other credited work includes The Acacia Strain, Hulder and Epicardiectomy.
