XTINGUISH THE CODE’s video for “Declaration/Doomsday Cult” accompanies a two-part song from their second album, The Conflict. The Bronx, New York metallic hardcore quartet announced the video through an exclusive premiere hosted by No Echo, with vocalist BJ Allen explaining the relationship between its lyrical themes and intended imagery.

In the announcement supplied by Earsplit PR, Allen describes the first section as a rejection of imposed narratives: “‘Declaration’ is about a citizen drawing a line in the sand by no longer falling for the prescribed narratives being forced upon them.”

The second section addresses religious manipulation. “‘Doomsday Cult’ is about the ease in which faith can be used to manipulate a mass amount of people to actively work against the tenets of their faith,” Allen says. His comments distinguish the subjects of the two sections within the same song.

Discussing the video’s imagery, Allen adds: “We wanted to highlight things that sometimes get justified by ‘moral superiority’ by using harsh images to help navigate the song.”

The band’s description of The Conflict places the song within a broader narrative concerning working-class solidarity and global awakening. According to the artist’s album page, each song is intended to portray a person’s transformation from an ordinary resident into a radicalized citizen.

The Conflict was released on March 27, 2026, and is available through Grey Matter Records on LP, CD and digitally. The artist’s Bandcamp catalogue also offers the album for streaming and download. Photography accompanying the announcement is credited to Joseph Maran.
