The new YOTH IRIA video, Dare To Rebel, features a track from the Hellenic black metal band's third album, Gone With The Devil, available now through Metal Blade Records. The announcement also brings dates for the In The Light Of Darkness European Tour, running March 12–27, 2027, with Thulcandra and Vorga.
The video follows previously released clips for ‘Harut, Government, Fallen,’ ‘The Blind Eye Of Antichrist’ and ‘Blessed Be He Who Enters.’
Following the 2021 debut As The Flame Withers and 2024's Blazing Inferno, YOTH IRIA describes the third album as a continuation of both records with additional sounds and atmospheres.
‘The creative workflow was similar to Blazing Inferno, yet we deliberately pushed ourselves to bring new elements into our music. We kept the immediacy of Blazing Inferno, the psychedelia of As The Flame Withers, and all the characteristics people expect from Hellenic black metal, while adding fresh sounds and atmospheres never before heard from YOTH IRIA.’
The announcement describes an album built predominantly around measured tempos, dark riffs, melodies and lead guitar passages, punctuated by blastbeats. Mediterranean folk elements and gothic cadences also form part of its musical palette.
The band describes its ongoing body of work with the statement: ‘Every note tells a story of rebirth, tradition, and the relentless pursuit of musical transcendence.’
YOTH IRIA's background connects with bassist and lyricist Jim Mutilator's earlier work. He formed Rotting Christ as Black Church in 1984 and was also a founding member of Varathron, remaining with that band for its first five years. The daemonic avatar YOTH IRIA appeared on Rotting Christ's 1993 debut, Thy Mighty Contract.
The current lineup comprises HE on vocals, Jim Mutilator on bass, Nikolas Perlepe and Naberius on guitars, and Bill ‘Vongaar’ Stavrianidis on drums. The supplied band photograph is credited to Alex Haritakis.
Gone With The Devil is available digitally and on CD, with a jewel case edition for the US and a digipak for the EU. Vinyl editions include Red Electric Blue Melt in the US and 180g Black in the EU. Limited EU variants are Oxblood Black Merged, limited to 500 copies; Oxblood Blue Silver Merged, limited to 250; and Gold Black Splatter, limited to 250.
