  • WARBRINGER Unveil Ghoulish Third Single "Through A Glass, Darkly" | New Album "Wrath And Ruin" Out This Friday, 3/14

Modern thrash titans WARBRINGER are preparing to unleash their highly anticipated new album Wrath And Ruin, out this Friday, March 14 via Napalm Records. Today, they unlock the tomb containing their ghoulish third single "Through A Glass, Darkly," emerging alongside a shell-shocked official music video.

The mini epic "Through A Glass, Darkly," was inspired by a poem from WWII general George Patton, insisting that he was the reincarnation of an eternal warrior spirit who has fought and died on countless battlefields throughout history. Conjuring the undead with gothic guitar stylings, and mid-paced, brooding tension, WARBRINGER crafts an atmosphere so tangible, you'll be coughing from the dust off the crypt.

About the single, frontman John Kevill says, "Here's the third single from Wrath and Ruin, the epic 'Through a Glass, Darkly.' We chose this one as a single to showcase the range and breadth of this album, offering something totally different from the first two singles here. This one has an epic and dark, mystical quality to it, as well as a real fist-raising energy. The song is about an eternally reincarnating warrior, who recounts his struggles and pains across the battlefields of time. This is based on a poem by the WW2 general George Patton, and apparently the man truly believed himself to be the reincarnation of this eternal warrior."

He continues, "To me, this idea had a lot of power and resonance, and works as a powerful metaphor for the ongoing human struggle we all face. I also thought his poem had some really great lines, some of which are incorporated here. The track, penned by Carlos Cruz, was an attempt to get the epic feel we had on songs like 'Defiance of Fate’ and ‘When the Guns Fell Silent’ into a shorter runtime package, a 'pocket epic,' if you will. I particularly love the soulful solo by Adam Carroll here, and I think the end passage is one of the finest vocal moments on the record. Here's a song to look at the sky to and stoically contemplate time and legacy... we hope you all enjoy 'Through a Glass, Darkly' and the rest of Wrath and Ruin.”

  • Doom Force KATLA Releases Second Single “Dead Lover” + Official Music Video Released

Doom hellhounds KATLA travel into the depths of heartache and resilience with their newly released track, "Dead Lover." The song is the second single to premiere from the three-headed Danish metal monster’s unmissable debut album, Scandinavian Pain, out March 21, 2025 via Napalm Records.

After years of honing their colossal sound and live energy, the band delivers an unrelenting blend of raw emotion, gritty riffs, and subterranean sonic battery. Scandinavian Pain not only marks a new chapter for the band, but also reflects their rise to acclaim – from humble beginnings at Copenhell Festival, to becoming a standout act in Denmark's heavy music underground.

"Dead Lover" delivers relentless energy and powerful imagery, encouraging listeners to embrace their struggles and emerge stronger. Battling inner demons and cosmic horrors, the track pulses with raw emotion.

    KATLA on "Dead Lover":

"This song was the first song to actually go on the album, as our first single 'Taurus' was kind of a standalone single by then. 'Dead Lover' was basically made in one day, as it was the perfect fit to that no-bullshit approach we wanted to make with the album. The lyrics were almost made as the song was being created in the rehearsal room, and pretty much hit the spot straight away. On a personal level, the 'Dead Lover' lyrics wrote themselves at the time, since Rasmus was also dealing with some very depressive and dark thoughts at the time. It is meant as more of an ‘uplifting’ song, as it also explores the subjects of getting through rough patches and coming out on the other side."

Watch the official music video for "Dead Lover" HERE.

Scandinavian Pain is a cathartic exploration of personal struggles, mental health, and societal critique. Songs like "Dead Lover" and "Grim Jesus" dive deep into themes of overcoming inner darkness and rejecting oppressive systems, showcasing lyrics that resonate with the resilience of the human spirit. "Castle of Purity" is a searing anthem that calls out the abuse and hypocrisy in organized religion — a powerful statement about pushing back against injustice and finding strength in individuality. Produced by Lasse Ballade (known for his work with Solbrud, Alkymist, and Halshug), the record combines visceral sonic landscapes with a deeply personal narrative. Prepare to experience the raw power and unfiltered honesty of KATLA on Scandinavian Pain

    KATLA says about the album:

"Scandinavian Pain is an album about the shame of feeling depressed in a country that in many ways seems to be out of any misery or control of others. The inherent feeling of guilt, the despondent thoughts. The weight of cultural Christianity and being part of a system that is destroying both ours and other lives. It’s about watching the newest season of whatever decadent TV show is on while children are being murdered daily. All the songs are different, yet similar. This time, there’s an affirmation for you, who might need it, a story telling, a short grindy track, something with a blast beat, but of course also heavy sludgy doom. Welcome to the house of pain."

Fans all over the world worship DESTRUCTION alongside fellow German thrash icons Sodom and Kreator, celebrating their influence on generations of bands worldwide. On Birth Of Malice, scene-legend and original member Schmier once again combines his dual vocal/bass attack with crashing riffs from battle axe masters Martin Furia and Damir Eskić, while Randy Black blasts pummeling drums to new heights. DESTRUCTION on "A.N.G.S.T.":

German thrash metal legends strike again – get ready for DESTRUCTION's 16th face-smashing attack!

The band's newest onslaught is opened by the brutal "Destruction," with a luring intro transforming into a true thrashing hymn with razor sharp guitars honoring the band's 40+ year legacy, where mastermind Schmier reflects on the old days. Like the title Birth Of Malice suggests, lyrically, Schmier delves deep in human errors ” like selfish behavior on "Greed" and "Evil Never Sleeps." A clear statement is made with carnage on "Scumbag Human Race," exploring the mistakes mankind makes and pushing authorities in its memorable chorus "I will count your days!." The same rebellious attitude can be witnessed on the banging "No Kings – No Masters." DESTRUCTION also shifts to futuristic topics on the album, like the unconscious influence of technology and new forms of war on "Cyber Warfare." To close this brutal tour de force on a positive note, the thrashing legends celebrate their strong allyship with metal colleagues Accept by presenting their own version of classic neck breaker "Fast As A Shark."

All of these heavy topics are combined in the brutal cover artwork, designed by talented Hungarian artist Gyula Havancsák, known for his works for bands like AcceptKreator and Blind GuardianBirth Of Malice was recorded at Switzerland’s Little Creek Studio by V.O.Pulver, and guitarist Martin Furia mixed and mastered the masterpiece at The Black Mancave in Hannover, Germany. DESTRUCTION mark themselves once again as a tight metal-machine, switching between ruthless thrash and pounding melodic moments, proving they are more than ready to slaughter again on this new album, and at their upcoming shows all over the world!

    Schmier — Bass, Vocals
    Martin Furia — Guitars
    Randy Black — Drums

  • Thrash Titans WARBRINGER Announce New Album + Explosive New Single + Video "A Better World"

Modern thrash titans WARBRINGER are thrilled to announce their highly anticipated new album, Wrath And Ruin, out March 14, 2025 via Napalm Records. With 20 years of history and millions of cross platform streams in their wake, "Best of the Year" nods from the likes of Loudwire and Consequence on 2020's Weapons Of Tomorrow, and now gearing up for a massive European tour with Decapitated and Cryptopsy this spring, WARBRINGER is poised for their next global assault with their seventh full-length studio release.

On Wrath And Ruin, WARBRINGER continues their furious assault against the powers that be with eight new explosive rippers lyrically focused on inspiring listeners to recognize strength in numbers and actualize their class power. The bonus CD, included with the 2CD and digital versions of the album, boasts 15 incendiary live versions of fan favorites recorded along their "Ravaging Europe 2023" tour. The album features pristine production by Mark Lewis, famous for his work with Cannibal CorpseTrivium, and The Black Dahlia Murder, mastering by Justin Shturtz (TestamentSepulturaMachine Head), and album art by the legendary Andreas Marschall, famous for his work with KreatorObituary, and In Flames amongst others.

Alongside the album announcement, WARBRINGER have unleashed the breakneck speed metal ripper "A Better World," lambasting ignorant optimism with forked tongue. The track arrives with a high octane official music video.

About the single and video, frontman John Kevill says, "When I was younger, I used to think the world would only get better during my life. I know now that isn’t the case. We aren't going to fix the environment even though we know the consequences, because profits would decrease, so it's not considered possible. On top of that, our societies keep getting more unequal, with a few people owning most everything, and most people just trying to keep their heads above water. We still won’t feed everyone, but we will fund development of weaponized autonomous drones, etc, etc.

"I was reading some social theory stuff (Mark Fisher) some years ago and feeling depressed about my own future in these conditions. I went to a therapist and they basically told me it was all real and legitimate, and that all they could do was give me drugs so I could pretend that I didn’t know all this. I don’t really have time to worry too much, because a bunch of bills are always due. I also stopped dreaming for a year or two, which I found scary. I tried to bottle this feeling into 'A Better World' — I don't think I'm the only one.

"The video was made by Juan Rodriguez, who we worked with on 'Crushed Beneath the Tracks,' and shows WARBRINGER going hard — what we do best. The song has a melodic death-tinged riff penned by Adam Carroll, with arrangements by thrash maestro Carlos Cruz. To me, it gives the feeling of being stuck on some accelerated loop that won’t slow down. Hope you guys enjoy the first taste of Wrath And Ruin, there’s a lot more to come!"
