  • Emerging Swedish Thrashers SARCATOR Unleashes Vicious New Single, "Where the Void Begins"

Before the festive season starts, Sweden’s blackened thrash metal band SARCATOR offers an early present for its fans with their newest single “Where the Void Begins.” The third track from the band’s upcoming album delivers a haunting exploration of despair and existential reflection. With vivid imagery, the lyrics delve into themes of isolation, loss, and the allure of the unknown. Dark and poetic, the song paints a picture of surrender to the infinite unknown - terrifying but liberating. “Where the Void Begins” will be the last single before Sarcator’s third full length album, 'Swarming Angels & Flies,' will be fully unleashed January 17th, 2025, via Century Media Records.

    Listen at THIS LOCATION.

The band comments, "'Where the Void Begins' is the brother song of 'The Long Lost,' off our 2022 album 'Alkahest' - not in an obvious way but it felt like continuing on a story that wasn't complete. It's the heavy one on this album and ends up in a total rock n roll frenzy.

Additionally, it is the first one we wrote that ended up on this album, so it still carries the spirit of the previous album in a way.”

Sarcator’s “Swarming Angels & Flies” sets the bar high for the upcoming album in terms of speed, heaviness and pure desire to see the song unfold live. Starting off like an explosion, the song delivers a sonic blast hurling the audience straight into a fire pit with raw, untamed energy. The album is now available for pre-order in various formats HERE.

At a juvenile age of 14-20, Sarcator released their first demo tape, “Visions of Purgatory”, via the American label Redefining Darkness Records in 2019. Just two years later the quadrumvirate got nominated for best rock/metal album for the Swedish music award P3 Guld with their 2020’s self-titled debut release for the same label. After releasing their 2nd album, “Alkahest”, via Black Lion Records in 2022, Sarcator finally got a proper chance to play live, captivating crowds with their intense, blackened live shows.

With their current line-up fully committed to the band despite their young age (all members are between 19 and 25) it was time for them to record their third album, which still features previous guitarist Emil Eriksson. Shortly after signing a new worldwide deal with Century Media Records and heading out on a debut European tour supporting Hellripper and Cloak, Sarcator will be releasing 'Swarming Angels & Flies' on January 17, 2025.

This album marks the most intense, brutal and rawest creation yet for the band. It is a remarkably mature and sophisticated piece of work, from mercurial musicians who are only in their early 20’s, and still at the beginning of their creative journey. Across eight, grotesque and utterly venomous tracks, Sarcator have deftly blended the wide-eyed extremity of their debut album with the inspirational musicality of their second record “Alkahest”, while playing everything with more intensity than ever before. Both deliriously melodic and mercilessly brutal: “Swarming Angels & Flies” is the most dangerously potent record the Swedens have made to date.

Sarcator explains about the record and its creation process, “We wanted to highlight the most aggressive and extreme parts of us, but we still wanted to work with dynamics, so you still have elements of classic rock and post-punk, which we started experimenting with on the last record. There is no question that it’s our most intense, brutal, and rawest creation yet - It's not really a genre album and we like to keep it that way."

With plenty of live activity in support of the upcoming album, Sarcator are already at the forefront of an emergent, highly determined new generation of Scandinavian extreme metal bands and ready to take the rest of the world by storm soon too.

  • DEHUMANIZING ITATRAIN WORSHIP Unleashes “Brutal Panzer” - A Collision of Anime and Extreme Metal

DEHUMANIZING ITATRAIN WORSHIP Unleashes “Brutal Panzer” - A Collision of Anime and Extreme Metal

New Album Out In 2025 via Stillbirth Records / Gore House Productions

Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship, the pioneering force in the anime slam and brutal death metal scene, is once again primed to demolish musical boundaries with their new single “Brutal Panzer”. This track is a taste of what’s in store from the band’s second full-length, which comes out in 2025 (Release Date TBD) on Stillbirth Records, a subsidiary of Gore House Productions. The band comments on the track:

“This song was inspired by the anime ‘Girls und Panzer’. We love the military otaku culture in the anime, so we created a song with cute melodies, but still brutal, just like the characters in the anime who are kawaii girls but drive tanks into battle. This is the second single we released for our new album. It returns to some of our 2016 styles, but also includes many new ideas.”

“Brutal Panzer” draws direct inspiration from the anime series Girls und Panzer, exemplifying the band's commitment to creating more than just a musical gimmick. According to Kiryu, the single represents the band's evolving mission to integrate anime culture into their music authentically.

Founded in 2014 by lead vocalist Kiryu Zhang, Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship has consistently pushed the limits of extreme music, creating a groundbreaking sound that defies traditional genre constraints.

With lyrics in both Japanese and English, Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship blends the intensity of brutal death metal with the vibrant aesthetics of anime culture. They are recommended for fans of Ingested, Hanabie, and Vulvodynia.

  • OCEANS OF SLUMBER Cover "Alone"

This time last year, Oceans of Slumber gifted fans a sneak peak at their new album with the piano medley "Poem of Fire". The Texas trailblazers of progressive metal have never bowed to convention, but on Where Gods Fear to Speak, they reached dark, cinematic new heights. This year, the band toured North America with Lacuna Coil and New Years Day before topping the charts at college radio and critics' year-end lists.

Today, Oceans of Slumber are putting a bow on 2024 with one of their cherished covers. Their faithful-but-still-groundshaking rendition of "Alone" was recorded at Houston's Southwing Audio
during the same session as last year's fiery piano medley.

While originally written in 1983 by proven hitmakers Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, "Alone" wasn't inducted into the pop culture cannon until it became a popular cover. Valerie Stevenson and John Stamos recorded the song for the short-lived rock band CBS sitcom Dreams the year before sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson turned it into Heart's second Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper.

Oceans of Slumber remain faithful to the spirit of Heart's beloved power ballad. Underground metalheads will always recognize him as the drummer for grindcore legends Insect Warfare, but Dobber Beverly is also a classically trained pianist who composed every note on Where Gods Fear to Speak. His nimble fingers dutifully recite the song's gentle opening, twirling amidst Cammie Beverly's solitary calls like snowfall.

"Dobber heard me sing 'Alone' one night at karaoke and thought it'd be cool for us to cover it", Cammie remembers.

Of course, Oceans of Slumber aren't ones to play directly to the script. Chris Kritikos cranks the power chords to a truly heart-pounding level, while Semir Ozerkan lays down a headbanging bass line. A classic, high-flying, heavy metal guitar solo from Alex Davis clears the runaway for Cammie, whose booming cleans could fill the loneliest of nights.

"When we got together, we decided to make our version of 'Alone' heavier by leaning into Oceans of Slumber's sound", Cammie continues. "By the time we finished recording, it felt like we'd really transformed the song, giving it new weight and energy while still keeping its heart intact".
