  Mallorca, Spain's renowned doom metal band Helevorn announces the "25 Years - Rooted Into Loss Tour" to celebrate their quarter of a century performing and recording doom metal since their conception in 1999. This landmark tour beginning in January 2025 will witness Helevorn sharing many fan-favorite songs from their gloomy, gothic doom catalog and supporting their fifth studio album, “Espectres” released this past September (Tour dates are listed below; more will be announced).

  Following significant line-up changes over the past three years, Helevorn has emerged stronger and more creative than ever with their new album "Espectres". The band enlisted the talents of Sebastià Barceló (Trallery) for drum recordings, adding a new dynamic to their sound. This album represents a slight departure from Helevorn's previous work, with new guitarist Alex composing 60% of the material. Fans can expect the familiar atmospheric and emotional depth Helevorn is known for, but with a rawer, more technical edge. The band shares the details behind the album:

  “This album is based on Hauntology, described first by Jaques Derrida and after by the philosopher Mark Fisher. He wrote “The Ghosts of My Life”, an amazing book where he describes the ‘slow cancellation of future’, and a lot of great concepts about the specters and the absences. How they make us what we really are. Is a fantastic concept to write a Doom Metal album isn't it?”

  While still rooted in their self-coined “Mediterranean Doom” style, this album leans more heavily into pure doom and metal elements. The band promises a less epic, less folk-influenced sound, focusing instead on the core essence of doom metal. Helevorn thinks it can be an intense experience for those who want to connect something very emotional and very philosophic with dark and gloomy music.

  Those with an interest in Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, and Draconian, will appreciate the art that Helevorn is creating.

  American black/extreme metal CATHARIA's highly anticipated second album "Unimaginable Dreams of Fate" is now available as of December 6th from Extreme Metal Music, a subsidiary of Rockshots Records.

  Founded by guitarist Matt Powell in the late 2010s, the band was born from his desire to create a sound that is dark, aggressive, and technical yet deeply melodic. With roots in black metal, Catharia's music explores new dimensions, refusing to be confined by genre expectations. After a series of lineup challenges, Powell forged ahead recording the band’s debut album "Midnight Sun" with engineer Jackson Ward. The addition of vocalist Nick Kiefer, who joined after impressing with a Wiegedood cover, helped solidify Catharia's sound.   Forged by ancient magic deep in the sandstone depths of Nottingham, UK, Tigguo Cobauc's spellbinding guitar riffs over primal rhythm are the sound of your darkest desires.

  Beginning their journey with the 2022 debut "Trial by Combat", this birth into the constellations was steeped in the murky depths of Death/Doom, cloaked in a sludgy resonance.   ​Southern Metal powerhouse duo Hellfire 76 has now released their first full-length album “Rags to Rage”. The eight-track collection, clocking in at 31 minutes, represents a perfect distillation of the band's heavy Southern stoner devil metal sound. They delve into a variety of topics from critical examination of dictatorships and religion to personal, relatable experiences. The comment on the record:

  “The album is a continuation of our first release, in that the subject matter is all thought-provoking. As for a lot of music, we want the lyrics to be literal but also open to the listener's interpretation. Sticking with the theme and ideas of Voodoo, Witchcraft, The Occult, and other oddities. We want to take the listeners on a dark and ominous journey into a place they don’t normally think about. Musically, it’s straight up, fuzzed out, uptempo jams, but with the various lyrical topics, it gives the listener a little more to chew on.”

  Recorded at Catalyst Recording in Charlotte, NC with producer Rob Tavaglione, “Rags to Rage” draws deeply from the well of Southern Gothic tradition and occult themes. The album showcases the duo's remarkable ability to create a massive sonic landscape with just two members, featuring Von Bury's (LOVESUCKER, BLOODY HAMMERS) multi-instrumental talents (guitar, bass, organ, vocals) alongside Mike McGuiness's (FACE THE WORLD) powerful drumming.

  The heavy dose of fuzzy, groove-laden rock will appeal to fans of doom, stoner rock, and traditional metal especially those with an interest in Clutch, Killing Joke, and Fu Manchu.

  Seven years in the making since 2017's EP "W.H.A.T.S.T.H.A.T." and touring across Canada with Annihilator and Australia's Mason, and a short hiatus, Montreal, Canada's MUTANK are discharging their new album "Think Before You Think" on November 29th via Boonsdale Records.

  Before it is officially released, MUTANK has teamed up with Decibel Magazine to premiere the album's full-stream, which you can bang your head heavy to HERE.

  "This is Thrash for Metalheads by Metalheads! We have evolved from crossover to a more refined thrash band with longer and more intricate songs, it can be a bit proggy… The level of seriousness in songwriting is evident in the new album. This album is the most material we have ever put out! 50 minutes of pure metal across 10 tracks. The songs picked themselves as we kept writing tracks we enjoyed playing.   MUTANK's new album "Think Before You Think" features ten volcanic thrash tracks to blaze a new path to jackhammer a pure audio assault.
