• SITH'ARI Unleashes Debut EP "Before The Dawn"

  Sith'ari, the Iowa, USA, black metal side project for both Lord Kafir of Nedakh and Pathos of Symphony of Heaven and Satan Destroyer announces the release of their debut EP" Before The Dawn", unleashed digitally on April 23rd, with physical release on CD on May 30th, 2025 via their indie label Ethanol Studio.

  Melancholic but uplifting, fast, and atmospheric, the EP is a more riff-oriented sound usually associated with most black metal. Lord Kafir writes the riffs on guitar and a drum machine then sends them to Pathos to get his interpretation to create a record that's a mish-mash of influences from different readings from history books, experiencing harsh winters in Iowa and Indiana and fantasy stories, games and movies.

  Lord Kafir had other music in him that wasn’t just typical death metal and Pathos was brought in because he wanted to play in a specific black metal band that didn’t deny him from his religious point of view.

  "If you wish that Satanic Warmaster was a bit darker, added a dash of Gorgoroth with just a dash of Immortal, that describes the sounds. The themes are much more in touch with fans of later-day Bathory and Immortal. From beginning to end, this EP will leave you wanting more. It’s a fantastic record that caters to all fans of black metal who want something melodic, fast, and relentless."

• OPHIOLATRY Release Harrowing Video Clip For New Single “Death Tour”

  Brazilian extreme metal outfit Ophiolatry has released a new music video, “Death Tour”, the first single from their upcoming album “Serpent's Verdict”, due June 6, 2025, via Wormholedeath Records. This latest visual offering is inspired by Greek mythology, depicting the journey of a fallen warrior's soul through the realm of death. As the spirit is carried across the River Styx, it approaches the gates of Hades, where the warrior's tribe awaits his arrival, welcoming him into the afterlife. They comment further on the single and the video:

  "The warrior perished, part of his body bathed in the blood of the unworthy. He doesn't beg. He doesn't hesitate. The ancestors whisper his name as his spirit ascends, enveloped in the smoke of rituals. The witches dance around the burning fire, invoking Charon's presence. The coins reflect in his lifeless eyes, an offering to the boatman. From the depths of Lake Styx. The serpent rises, its coils moving like time itself. As he breathes, the warrior's confusion dissolves into clarity. He steps onto the distant shore, where his tribe awaits him in reverent silence. There are no words; They are not necessary.   “Death Tour” represents a sonic evolution for Ophiolatry, balancing their technical prowess with a more atmospheric, tribally influenced approach to extreme metal. The video clip amplifies these themes through striking imagery that merges Greek Mythology with the brutality of modern death metal aesthetics.

• KRATORNAS Announces “Ravaged by Hurakaan” Vinyl and Cassette Demo Ahead of Upcoming Album "God of the Tribes" Out August 2025

  Saskatoon, Canada's Kratornas is set to unleash a special vinyl demo on May 20th and remix cassette on May 30th, 2025, through Grathila Records. These releases serve as a prelude to the highly anticipated full-length album “God of the Tribes,” scheduled for release on August 20th, 2025. The mastermind behind Kratornas comments:

  "This album marks a turning point for KRATORNAS. Not because it tries to be “different” but because it couldn’t have come out any other way. Every part of this release came together naturally. The sound, the pacing, the tension... it wrote itself, shaped by instinct and intention. This album is unlike the usual Kratornas, so anyone expecting it to sound like “early Kratornas” will be disappointed.

  The 7" vinyl demo features “Ravaged by Hurakaan” on Side A, with Side B containing an instrumental “Drum and Bass” version of the same track. This vinyl-exclusive release will not be available in digital format, making it a true collector's item for dedicated fans. Simultaneously, Kratornas will release a remix of the track on cassette. Both the vinyl and the upcoming album were mastered by Dan Swanö (Edge of Sanity).

  "Ravaged by Hurakaan" serves as track #3 on the upcoming full-length album "God of the Tribes," giving fans an early taste of what to expect from the new material. Unlike previous Kratornas releases known for their "superfast brutality," this new material focuses on build-up and atmosphere, showcasing a significant evolution in sound.

  The new material features previously unexplored instrumentation, including a 7-string guitar for L/R channels and a 6-string fretless bass, moving away from blast beats and heavily distorted guitars toward a more nuanced approach. Black Metal fans, especially those with an interest in “being progressive”, should take note.

  Formed in 1998, Dying Awkward Angel draws inspiration from the '90s extreme metal scene of Gothenburg, the UK, and the USA, with influences from bands like In Flames, At the Gates, Carcass, Slayer, Death, Pantera, and Metallica.
