  Italian melancholic dark metal band Shores Of Null is proud to unveil their first live album, “Beauty Over Europe,” now available as of May 9th, 2025, via Sulphur Music / Masked Dead Records.

  To celebrate its release day, Shores of Null are sharing their new live video, "A Nature in Disguise". The audio track was recorded live at Backstage in Munich, Germany. Footage is taken from the 2023 European tour with Swallow The Sun, Draconian, and Avatarium, mainly at Barba Negra in Budapest by Péter Lerch.

  “Beauty Over Europe” features 10 tracks recorded during the monumental 2023 European tour with Swallow The Sun, Draconian, and Avatarium. Throughout that tour, Shores of Null performed 35 shows across 18 countries, including Norway, Denmark, Germany, the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Hungary, bringing their critically acclaimed album "The Loss Of Beauty" to the stage.

  The live recordings, captured in Leipzig, Munich, Aschaffenburg, Budapest, and Belfast, preserve the raw and emotive energy of their performances. Each track reflects the band’s ability to blend melancholic melodies with crushing heaviness, offering fans a visceral live experience.

  "Beauty Over Europe" is both a celebration of the tour and a gift to all fans of the band. Exactly two years after that unforgettable journey, this live album offers a chance to relive the emotional intensity and true essence of Shores Of Null’s live performances.

  Reflecting on the experience, vocalist Davide Straccione and guitarist Gabriele Giacarri share their thoughts:

  There can only be one! Wacken Metal Battle Canada is proud to announce this year's 2025 national finalists for one unsigned Canadian band to be crowned champion and perform at one of the world's most prestigious and largest already sold-out metal festivals Wacken Open Air (July 30th – August 2nd) (Attendance of over 80,000 people in Wacken, Germany for over 30 years).

  About:

  Wacken Metal Battle Canada is part of an international competition that sees bands from across the country battle each other for the chance to win their spot among 30 other countries’ champions, and represent Canada in an international battle of the bands at the world’s largest outdoor metal festival: Wacken Open Air. The battles have been hosted at the festival for over a decade giving independent bands the opportunity to showcase their talents to an international audience, along with the chance to win multiple prizes.

  How it works:
  ​Participating cities will host qualifying rounds plus a city final organized by a local city concert promoter, where one band will move forward to the Canadian national final (date and city to be determined).   Pushing the boundaries of its genre with thought-provoking lyrics, heavy grooves, and graceful technicality, by integrating unexpected elements and focusing on what serves the song rather than individual egos, Calgary, AB metalcore band Victoria Lies always aims to deliver a fresh and compelling sound. Formed in 2023, they have released a series of singles, “Trial By Fire” (May 2024) and “...Ready for it?” (December 2024) to introduce themselves to the Canadian metal scene and beyond. Currently working on their first full-length to be released later in 2025, the quintet has one more standalone single to unveil in preparation for upcoming dates at Gatorfest (Calgary, AB) and Decimate Metal Fest (Millet, AB) (listed below).

  Entitled "Zerotonin", the song is about the feeling you get when drugs stop working. You keep reaching for a high that was once attainable and no longer through the means and chemicals you put into your body, yet you keep doing it because if you stop, it will be much worse.

  "Zerotonin is a play on the word serotonin, only being the opposite of the former. The struggle with watching your body slowly break down while swallowing that next pill, because you might die if you don’t. Recording this song was a very special project for us, as we had recorded it several years ago, but it just fell flat. We did not give this song the love and attention it needed. So when the opportunity came up to go into the studio with our producer and finally give it that injection of passion and attention to detail, we all jumped at the chance. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it for you!"

• SITH'ARI Unleashes Debut EP "Before The Dawn"

  Sith'ari, the Iowa, USA, black metal side project for both Lord Kafir of Nedakh and Pathos of Symphony of Heaven and Satan Destroyer announces the release of their debut EP" Before The Dawn", unleashed digitally on April 23rd, with physical release on CD on May 30th, 2025 via their indie label Ethanol Studio.

  Melancholic but uplifting, fast, and atmospheric, the EP is a more riff-oriented sound usually associated with most black metal. Lord Kafir writes the riffs on guitar and a drum machine then sends them to Pathos to get his interpretation to create a record that's a mish-mash of influences from different readings from history books, experiencing harsh winters in Iowa and Indiana and fantasy stories, games and movies.

  Lord Kafir had other music in him that wasn’t just typical death metal and Pathos was brought in because he wanted to play in a specific black metal band that didn’t deny him from his religious point of view.

  "If you wish that Satanic Warmaster was a bit darker, added a dash of Gorgoroth with just a dash of Immortal, that describes the sounds. The themes are much more in touch with fans of later-day Bathory and Immortal. From beginning to end, this EP will leave you wanting more.
