  • Quebec Deathcore Force DISCOVERY THROUGH TORMENT's EP "Telesynthetic Rebirth"

Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC, Canada deathcore force Discovery Through Torment is set to unleash their new EP, "Telesynthetic Rebirth," with an exclusive advance stream premiering on Decibel Magazine a full day ahead of its official release on December 5th. Fans can experience the band’s most ambitious and brutal work yet before it drops worldwide.

Listen to the EP's full stream premiere on Decibel Magazine HERE.

Formed out of a desire to push heaviness to its limits, Discovery Through Torment has carved a reputation in the Quebec underground for its uncompromising blend of slam, brutal death metal, and blackened atmospheres. Since their debut, "Divine in Blood" (2020), and the acclaimed follow-up, "The Mangled God" (2022), the band has evolved into a sharpened five-piece lineup, now fronted by vocalist Alex Desroches. With "Telesynthetic Rebirth," they deliver a bold new chapter defined by narrative-driven lyrics, cinematic scope, and relentless aggression.

“On this EP, we took the time to experiment a lot and find the right balance between sounding fresh and staying true to our sound. It’s very dark and heavy, with sci-fi atmospheres and plenty of surprises. We are very proud of this one, it hits HARD,” adds the band.

The EP plays out like a video game-inspired descent into collapse and conquest, pulling listeners through five chapters of divine downfall, human abduction, and engineered genocide. Musically, it balances towering, cinematic compositions with suffocating heaviness, fusing slam brutality and blackened deathcore atmospheres into a relentless narrative arc. It begins with "Dethronement," a grand opener announcing the fall of the Mangled God with epic scale, before plunging into "Arcane Inception," where crushing riffs expose the apocalyptic intentions of a new force rising from the ashes. The tone grows colder and more clinical in "Veil Unfurling," transforming captives into telepathic servants through a chilling blend of atmosphere and brutality. The intensity reaches its peak in "Lesions," a punishingly direct assault that warns of inevitable demise with twisted vocal lines and relentless weight. Finally, "First Encounter Assault Regiment" closes the record with a genocidal march, its towering chorus and cliffhanger ending leaving the storyline suspended in anticipation of the destructive chapter still to come.

The EP’s artwork mirrors this ominous narrative, drenched in red hues and desolate landscapes that hint at alien origins and looming menace. Adding to its depth are several fun details: hidden nods to the first F.E.A.R. game woven into track titles and lyrics, the clinical edge of "Veil Unfurling" born from a binge of House M.D., and synth layers crafted in DIY fashion by guitarist Sam experimenting at home.

For fans of Aversions Crown, Rings of Saturn, and Mental Cruelty, "Telesynthetic Rebirth" drops December 5th, 2025, on all major platforms.

  • GRAVEWITCH Unleashes New Music Video "Mistress of Hate" from Self-Titled Album Out Now!

Extreme metal duo Gravewitch have released their brand-new music video "Mistress Hate," a blistering visual companion to their self-titled album, which dropped this past June via Rock Sun Records. The release marks a defining moment for the band, showcasing their evolution from raw beginnings to a fully realised professional sound.

Formed in 2013 by childhood friends Chris Fleming (guitar/vocals) and Andrew Ingraham (drums), Gravewitch was born out of a shared passion for heavy music and a desire to carve their own path in the underground scene.

“We’ve been best friends since childhood and decided to create Gravewitch when we were sophomores in high school. This band has always been about pushing ourselves creatively and staying true to our vision,” says Fleming.

Fusing elements of Black Metal, Thrash, Death Metal, Melodic Death Metal, and Cascadian Black Metal into a sound that is both punishing and atmospheric, Gravewitch is relentless, melodic, heavy, intriguing, and old-school.

Gravewitch’s self-titled album takes listeners on a dark and diverse journey through ten tracks, each with its own distinct theme and musical identity. From the haunting portrayal of early 1900s insane asylums in Damnable Evil to the personal nightmare of sleep paralysis in Phantasm, the band blends thrash, black, and melodic elements with precision. Mistress of Hate revisits the brutality of witch trials, while Ritual Reanimation summons undead armies through thrash-driven intensity. Nature and atmosphere dominate Atmospheric Alterations, contrasting with the chilling true-crime narrative of White City Devil about serial killer H.H. Holmes. Woodland Trance evokes haunted forests with cascadian black metal textures, and Systematic Fallout delivers pure thrash chaos alongside the band’s first-ever guitar solo. War themes emerge in Operation Overlord, immersing listeners in the chaos of D-Day, while The Once Sacred Gift of Life closes the album with grief, mortality, and the origins of Gravewitch’s sound. Together, the record showcases the duo’s ability to fuse extreme metal subgenres into a cohesive yet varied listening experience.

"Written during the chaos of 2020, our self-titled album reflects the uncertainty of the times. We had no idea if these songs were ever going to see the light of day. The chaotic energy of the world matched the diversity of the music, so we embraced different lyrical topics that had nothing to do with each other,” adds Fleming.

The new video "Mistress Hate" captures the raw energy and occult-inspired aesthetic that defines Gravewitch. Filmed in South Wales, United Kingdom by Ritual Video, the clip features the same actress who played “The Witch” in the band’s debut video Circle of Power from their first album "The Summoning."

Recommended for fans of Gravewitch's self-titled album, released on June 18, 2025, via Rock Sun Records, is available on all digital platforms and CD.

  • IN VIRTUE Unveils Music Video “Karma Loop” ft. Charlotte Wessels (ex-Delain) For Release of New Album "Age of Legends" ft. Guests Dave Davidson of Revocation, Chaney Crabb of Entheos, Charlotte Wessels)

Rising Los Angeles progressive power metal band In Virtue has unveiled their brand-new music video for “Karma Loop”, the latest single from their highly anticipated album "Age of Legends," out now as of November 21st. The video marks a powerful introduction to the record’s sweeping concept and emotional depth, while showcasing the band’s unique sound that blends heavy riffs, melodic hooks, and cinematic textures.

The new single “Karma Loop” was the final track written for the album and quickly became a favorite. Featuring guest vocals from Charlotte Wessels (ex-Delain), the song is a dialogue between Sisyphus and a guiding figure known as The Catalyst. Together, they explore the idea that punishment is often self-inflicted and that redemption begins with self-worth. Built around a guitar lick Trey originally wrote for a demo years ago, the track evolved through collaboration with former drummer Mazen Ayoub, guitarist Rami Khalaf, and keyboardist Alex Nasla, resulting in one of the album’s most dynamic and emotionally resonant pieces.

The lyrics even weave in cultural references from the Kingston Trio’s “M.T.A.” to Hunter S. Thompson’s famous line, “Buy the ticket, take the ride”, adding layers of meaning to the song’s exploration of cycles, consequences, and liberation.

"Age of Legends" is more than just a collection of songs; it’s a fully realized concept album that tells the story of a flawed protagonist inspired by the myth of Sisyphus. Through themes of guilt, redemption, and self-forgiveness, the album mirrors frontman Trey’s own journey of catharsis and transformation.

“This is a day 10+ years in the making, the album that almost wasn’t. Born from pure force of will against all odds, it’s a testament to rebirth and an iron vision. What you’ll hear is a direct feed from my soul,” Trey explains.

Musically, the album balances heavy, groove-driven foundations with orchestration and synths that elevate the songs without overshadowing them. Vocals range from soaring cleans to guttural growls, while guitar and keyboard solos punctuate the narrative without overstaying their welcome. It’s a record designed to be experienced in full, an immersive journey best heard start to finish.

The cover art for "Age of Legends" was created by Niklas Sundin (ex-Dark Tranquillity), depicting Sisyphus breaking free from his eternal punishment. The imagery perfectly complements the album’s lyrical themes of release, redemption, and transformation.

Formed out of a love for power metal but a distaste for its escapist clichés, In Virtue set out to create music that was heavy, fast, catchy, melodic, and groovy, yet grounded in real human experiences. Their sound draws influence from bands like Soilwork, Amaranthe, Shinedown, Symphony X, and Sonata Arctica, while carving out a distinct identity that avoids prefabricated genre formulas.

Known for their engaging live performances, In Virtue brings audiences into the experience with big harmonies, sing-alongs, and an energy that defies the “arms-crossed” stereotype of metal shows. With members connected to acts like Witherfall and The Mourning, the band continues to evolve, refining their vision into a cohesive and powerful voice in modern metal.

Fans can expect an emotional deep dive, a rollercoaster of textures and colors, but ultimately a cohesive journey that rewards both casual listeners and those willing to explore its deeper narrative.

"Age of Legends" is available worldwide as of November 21st, 2025, at https://orcd.co/agofle

  • LITTLE KING's New Music Video "Who’s Illegal?" Is A Bold Prog Rock Anthem of Inclusion

Progressive rock band Little King has released the official music video for “Who’s Illegal?”, a standout track from their latest album, "Lente Viviente," which dropped this past September. Known for their dynamic, melodic, progressive, heavy rock sound, Little King continues to push boundaries with music that is both sonically adventurous and socially conscious.

Frontman and songwriter Ryan Rosoff drew inspiration for “Who’s Illegal?” from his return to Tucson, AZ, where the city’s Presidio San Agustin del Tucson reflects centuries of cultural intersections between Indigenous tribes, Spanish settlers, Mexican heritage, and American expansion. The song asks a timeless question: “After all this time and all the arbitrary assignment of this land to governments and warlords…Who’s Illegal?”

The track fuses suspended chords, melodic bass lines, and shifting time signatures — alternating between 6/8 and 9/8 — to reflect the lyrical tension between division and unity. Filmed across Tucson’s vibrant cityscapes, the video amplifies this narrative, visually underscoring themes of immigration, inclusion, and love.

"Lente Viviente" (Spanish for “Living Lens”) stands as Little King’s most ambitious project to date. Featuring new members Dave Hamilton on bass and Tony Bojorquez on drums, the record delves into themes of memory, identity, aging, addiction, and resilience. Each song unfolds as a “micro-epic,” blending intricate arrangements with concise, emotionally charged storytelling.

“I want people to take a short, mind-blowing journey…like Musical DMT. The dynamic range of this record will push and pull from the first note to the last,” says frontman Ryan Rosoff.

Across its tracks, "Lente Viviente" reveals a sweeping emotional and musical spectrum. “Catch and Release” and “Dawn Villa” revisit childhood and enduring friendship, while “Pass Through Filters” meditates on aging and addiction. “Kindness for Weakness” explores the fragile balance between vulnerability and strength, and “Who’s Illegal?” confronts immigration and identity with bold conviction. Together, these songs create a cohesive journey, complex yet melodic, that invites listeners to think deeply, feel fully, and return again and again for the complete experience.

Since forming in 1997, Little King has steadily evolved through confidence, technical growth, and relentless creativity. Rosoff, a former Creative Writing major and English teacher, has penned over 65 songs, blending literary depth with progressive rock intensity. With influences ranging from Rush, Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, Muse, Led Zeppelin, and Night Verses, Little King’s music resonates with fans of both classic and modern rock.

"Lente Viviente" (released Sept 26th) is available on digital platforms at https://show.co/nI24kSK

    Track Listing:
    1. Catch and Release - 3:22

  • Streaming Now! Quebec Melodic Death OUTLYING Unleash Long-Awaited Album "Oblivisci"

Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada, melodic death metal band Outlying will release their long-awaited new album "Oblivisci" on November 21st. A visceral and uncompromising work, the record blends aggression, melody, and raw emotion into a cohesive listening experience that fans will find impossible to ignore.

Formed in 2003 by high school friends jamming covers, Outlying has evolved through lineup changes and years of musical exploration into a band committed to creating music that is both powerful and accessible. Frontman Fred Dubeau, the band’s primary songwriter, sought to move beyond “music for musicians” and instead craft songs that resonate viscerally with listeners. The result is a sound described in five words: captivating, dark, aggressive, melodic metal.

The album’s title, "Oblivisci", Latin for “to forget”, reflects themes of withdrawal, alienation, and the struggle to escape trauma. Across eleven tracks, the band explores grief, loneliness, disenfranchisement, and addiction, culminating in a three-part epic that chronicles frontman Dubeau’s personal battle with alcohol and drug dependency. Now sober, Dubeau channels those experiences into music that is both cathartic and brutally honest.

“It is a great pleasure for us after all this time and a very difficult process to introduce the world to our newest effort, Oblivisci. We are glad to be musicians who are somehow different from most other bands in our environment, and strive to make music that is expressive, dark, heavy, and brings the listener through many different kinds of atmospheres and vibes. We try to avoid trends and gimmicks, and create something that comes from our diverse musical influences, different backgrounds and lives, and many other forms of art such as movies, books, or video games. While staying true to what Outlying always was, we always try to step up our game and improve our sound and musical connection with our audience. Despite being more often than not called a melodic death metal band, the band absorbs influences from thrash, black, prog, and also 70s, 80s, and 90s rock. In a world of thousands of forgettable songs, we hope to find our way into the hearts of many metal enthusiasts locally and around the world,” says the band.

Musically, "Oblivisci" strikes a balance between relentless, heavy riffing and soaring melodic passages, enriched by clean vocal textures and dynamic arrangements. With Outlying, the band steers clear of unnecessary complexity, instead crafting songs that prioritize emotion and impact. While echoes of their influences, At The Gates, Testament, Cradle of Filth, In Flames, and Wintersun, are present, Outlying’s sound stands apart as distinct and refined, heavier yet more melodic than ever before.

The record begins with The Raven Is Gone, a blistering and epic opener that channels the urgency of escaping chaos in search of refuge. Stigma follows, rooted in old‑school melodic death metal, confronting themes of societal judgment and subcultural rejection. The atmosphere turns chilling with Snow, a haunting narrative of abuse elevated by female vocals and an expansive, epic structure. The descent continues in Pitch Black Serum, a dark and unsettling track that delves into defeatism and indulgence in fleeting pleasures. Sentinel then emerges as a poignant power ballad, weaving clean vocals with an aggressive bridge to capture grief and memory. Closing the album, the three‑part suite Dreamless Nights I–III delivers a sweeping chronicle of addiction, false escape, and painful aftermath, culminating in a climactic, melodic finale that leaves a powerful and lasting impression.

The album artwork depicts a post-apocalyptic version of the band’s home city, visually reinforcing the themes of decay, alienation, and survival that permeate the record. It mirrors the music’s balance of heaviness and melody, offering listeners a complete aesthetic experience.

With "Oblivisci," Outlying has crafted a “no skipped tracks” album; every song matters, every riff and lyric carries weight. The band hopes to continue releasing music consistently, exploring new directions while staying true to their core sound.

Listen to the album in full via its stream premiere on Bravewords HERE.
