  • Montreal Brass Metal Pioneers FALLSTAF Returns 15 Years After Debut With New Album "Ode To The Dead" Out Nov 2025

After nearly a decade of silence, Montreal’s genre-defying metal band Fallstaf is back with a vengeance. Their long-awaited sophomore album, "Ode to The Dead", is set for release this Fall 2025, and its first single, the title track, is streaming everywhere alongside a gripping lyric video.

Known as the pioneers of “brass metal,” Fallstaf made waves in 2011 with their debut 'Bastard Son of a Pure Breed,' produced by Kevin Jardine (Slaves On Dope). Their signature sound—groove-heavy, progressive metal laced with trombone earned them cult status in the Quebec metal scene. But in 2016, tragedy struck when frontman IANN suffered a near-fatal accident, leading to the band’s dissolution.

Now, after years of recovery and reflection, Fallstaf has reunited, reignited, and reimagined their sound. "Ode to The Dead" is a powerful, autobiographical journey through survival, grief, and rebirth. Produced once again by Jardine, the album features seven new tracks that blend sludge, thrash, and hardcore influences with melodic hooks and brass-driven chaos.

“This album wasn’t made to impress; it was made out of friendship. Music is therapeutic. Metal brings people together, and we missed that energy,” says the band.

The first single and title track is a tribute to the deceased.

"They are no longer physically here, but they are always in our thoughts; that is the reason for the phrase “they walk among us”. The riff of the chorus gave rise to the rest of the song," adds the band.

Watch the lyric video for “Ode To The Dead” and experience the rebirth of one of Montreal’s most original metal acts.

Fallstaf’s live shows remain unforgettable: suits and ties, a masked brass player, and a frontman with a robotic leg. “People think we’re a ska band—until the first chord hits,” they laugh. Stay tuned. Fallstaf will be kicking ass live soon!

"Ode to the Dead" will be available on all major streaming platforms on November 14th, 2025, along with an exclusive interactive collectible coffin USB drive.

  • HUMAN MISSILE CRISIS Slither New Single "Snake In The Grass" Ahead of Opening For PROPAGANDHI In Halifax Sept 23rd

Human Missile Crisis is back with a vengeance. The Cape Breton-born, Dartmouth-based trio has just dropped their latest single, “Snake in the Grass,” the first track off their upcoming two-song EP "Waste Away." The release comes just days before the band opens for punk legends Propagandhi in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on September 23rd (ticket info), marking a major moment in their journey through Canada’s underground rock scene.

“Snake in the Grass” is a blistering, danceable anthem that blends fast, fun drums with slidey guitars and a bass solo bridge that’s as unexpected as it is beautiful. Lyrically, it’s a cautionary tale about betrayal and the kind of people who smile to your face while sharpening knives behind your back. Inspired by a surreal walk through a rattlesnake-infested vineyard in Osoyoos, BC, frontman DJ Vaters channels personal experience into a track that’s as cathartic as it is catchy.

“This one’s for anyone who’s ever been burned by someone they trusted. It’s upbeat, it’s raw, and it’s got a Bloc Party kind of vibe that we’re really excited to share,” says Vaters.

The single is part of "Waste Away," a two-track EP recorded live off the floor with Jamie Foulds, who engineered and mixed the record. The second track, “Mona Lisa,” will follow shortly and offers a more introspective look at the loneliness of night-shift life and the longing for connection. Together, the songs showcase the band’s evolution from heavy punk roots to a more nuanced garage rock/post-punk hybrid.

Known for their explosive live shows and deep camaraderie, Human Missile Crisis treats every gig like a house party with friends.

“We don’t want fans, we want family. We want people to laugh, sing, and dance with us. That’s the whole point,” says drummer Matt MacIsaac.

With influences ranging from Idles and Fucked Up to The Hives and Television, Human Missile Crisis continues to carve out a sound that’s both familiar and fiercely their own. "Waste Away" is the follow-up to their 2023 debut album "Liquor Store Stories," and if “Snake in the Grass” is any indication, the band is only getting louder, sharper, and more honest.

Catch Human Missile Crisis live with Propagandhi on September 23rd in Halifax, and until then, crank “Snake in the Grass” and dance like nobody’s watching.

  • THE INTERROGATION Returns with “Wicked Happy” - A High-Energy Anthem of Awkwardness, Hope, and Defiance

After five years of silence, Canadian pop punk outfit The Interrogation roars back with their electrifying new single “Wicked Happy”, marking the band’s first release since their 2020 debut EP "Posters On My Wall." Accompanied by a dynamic music video, the track is a bold declaration of phase two for the band, now a full lineup, playing live across British Columbia and gearing up for a wider Western Canadian tour.

“Wicked Happy is the first song we’ve released since the band turned from my solo project into a full band. It’s a springboard into everything we’ve become, high-energy, uplifting, and unapologetically real,” says frontman Thom Turner (ex-Freya, ex-Hawthorne Heights touring guitarist).

Originally conceived in the wake of personal tragedy, The Interrogation began as Turner’s solo project following the loss of his mother in 2018. What started as a cathartic songwriting outlet evolved into a full band with a mission: to turn awkwardness, grief, and isolation into connection, community, and catharsis.

“Wicked Happy” delivers exactly that. With punchy guitar riffs, call-and-response vocals between Turner and bassist Joel French (Vultures At Dawn), and a chorus built for gang vocals and mosh pits, the track channels the raw energy of the band’s live shows. Lyrically, it’s a rallying cry for anyone who’s ever felt like they didn’t fit, a message of defiance and self-discovery wrapped in a melodic, riff-driven package.

    Turner explains further:

“It’s about never quite fitting in. About reaching beyond what others expect and growing into something stronger than anyone said you could be.”

The single also marks French’s debut as a lead vocalist, a role he’s held since 2022. The accompanying music video captures the band’s signature live intensity, no backing tracks, no polish, just pure pop punk sincerity.

The artwork, created by drummer Sebastian Valdivia, sets the tone: a sun just out of focus, daring you to squint, stretch, and reach for the sky.

Fans of New Found Glory, Four Year Strong, Coheed and Cambria, and A Day To Remember will find plenty to love in The Interrogation’s sound, described as energetic, catchy, heavy riffs, guitar-driven, and even more in their story. With members hailing from New York, Saskatchewan, Vancouver, and Colombia, the band brings a rich tapestry of backgrounds and influences to their music.

With more singles planned for early 2026, "Wicked Happy" is just the beginning. For The Interrogation, the message is clear: awkwardness is power, and punk is for everyone.

  • THE FIXER's New Single Is An Anthem To Break Free “It Will End Tonight” + "Ugly Knots Tour" with TEKNOSIS Across Central Canada (QC/ON/MB/SK/AB)

Following the raw emotional power of their 2023 debut album "Your Lie," released via Worm Hole Death Records, genre-defying metal outfit The Fixer returns with a new single, “It Will End Tonight”, as they gear up for a tour across five Canadian provinces, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta with fellow Thunder Bay comrades TEKNOSIS this coming October (dates listed below).

Performed live as a set closer, the single has already become a fan-favourite and now finally gets its official release. Written with live performance in mind, “It Will End Tonight” channels the band’s roots in hardcore, screamo, and punk, while weaving in their signature industrial and gothic textures. Drawing sonic inspiration from acts like Alexisonfire, Holly Springs Disaster, Rammstein, and Type O Negative, the single delivers a raw, melodic intensity that captures the cathartic energy of The Fixer’s live shows.

Lyrically, the song explores the painful clarity of realizing a situation won’t change, no matter how tightly you hold on. It’s about the strength it takes to walk away when staying only causes more harm.

“We’ve always written from a heartfelt lens. This track is no exception. It’s about fighting through darkness with love, and we think fans who connect with our emotional honesty will resonate deeply with it,” says the band.

The single’s artwork, created by Vicki Nerino, reflects this fiery emotional core, an elemental reinterpretation of The Fixer’s logo, inspired directly by the song’s intensity.

For fans of emotionally driven metal with theatrical flair, this tour is not to be missed. “It Will End Tonight” is just the beginning of what promises to be a transformative new chapter for The Fixer.

Listen to “It Will End Tonight” via its premiere on Bravewords HERE.

The Fixer hits the road with fellow Thunder Bay heavyweights Teknosis for the Ugly Knots Tour, a cross-Canada metal blitz that promises to be nothing short of explosive. Fans can expect new material, revived deep cuts, and the kind of emotionally charged performances that have become The Fixer’s trademark.

"Touring is something we all look forward to in The Fixer. The most rewarding part of being in a band is seeing people connect with something you’ve created, and our favourite way to do that is in the live setting. We will be heading out with fresh songs, as well as bringing a couple of songs back into the set that we haven’t played in some time. Similarly, we are excited to be playing some places we haven’t played before and some of the first places we ever played outside of our hometown," says Vic Sin, Guitar - The Fixer

“We are incredibly pleased with our first EP, ‘Return to Civilization’. These 5 songs are the perfect introduction to the sound of Teknosis. Fans of all genres of metal will enjoy our hybrid of metal genres. We are now beyond thrilled to be bringing these songs and more on tour this October with The Fixer,” adds bassist Travis Doggett - Teknosis.

    About Teknosis:

Formed out of pure love for metal. Teknosis has quickly evolved into a tight, aggressive unit with a shared vision: to make heavy music that hits hard and leaves no room to breathe. Set to ignite stages across the country this October, Teknosis is bringing their relentless live energy to fans in support of their acclaimed 2024 EP "Return to Civilization", a five-track barrage of groove-laced hardcore and death metal influences. It's a compact, violent sonic explosion that lyrically channels frustration and isolation from lockdowns, with themes ranging from societal collapse to personal survival.

With ambient samples bridging each track, Teknosis will be a visceral live experience as they deliver a seamless, high-impact set that’s organic, heavy, and hypnotic.

“We still believe in live amps and drums straight to the cochlea. It’s all about maximum intensity. A sonic experience that’s as brutal as it is addictive," says bassist Travis Doggett.

Fans can expect new singles starting in Fall 2025, leading up to a full-length album in late 2025 or early 2026. The October tour will feature tracks from "Return to Civilization" alongside unreleased material, giving audiences a taste of what’s to come.

  • THE BLOODY HELL Unveil New Single “Are You Happy?” Ahead of Third Album "Blood Code"

Halifax, Canada's unrelenting punk-infused hard rock outfit, The Bloody Hell, continues its sonic evolution with the explosive release of their second single, “Are You Happy?”, a searing preview from their highly anticipated third album "Blood Code", slated to drop Fall 2025.

Following the success of their raw and furious sophomore record "Nobody Cares"“Are You Happy?” turns towards heavier ground. The track is fast paced and hard hitting, driven by an earworm guitar riff with explodes into an off time rhythmic assault, while the raw and gritty vocal tells a story of the high and lows of a toxic relationship, and the lesson learned by a letting go ultimately ending in self reflection, and that oh so very important question - Are You Happy?.

"Are You Happy? is the second single off the upcoming third album from The Bloody Hell, which is slated for release in the fall of 2025. The video is compiled of in-studio footage of the band's recording sessions, coupled with live footage from a string of shows played in 2024. Musically, the track is a big step forward in our songwriting approach, showcasing how our two new members have enhanced and morphed our sound, with this song bordering on hard rock, even slightly prog in the breakdown section. The majority of our previous releases have always been more straightforward, more fast-paced, and more punk rock, so it is exciting to step outside that "box" and let the song venture into places we've yet to explore. Also interesting to see how the public will receive this, we feel it's one of our strongest singles yet, but we'll let the audience be the judge, let us know .....Are You Happy?" adds Ian Kean Vocals.

Accompanying the single is a new music video, splicing together in-studio recording sessions with electrifying live clips from a 2024 performance. It has a visual reflection of the band's metamorphosis and has a teaser for what's to come.
