Montreal, Canada’s World On Alert is thrilled to announce the release of their progressive and thrashy self-titled debut EP, alongside the premiere of the music video for their powerful new single “Insecurities”. This highly anticipated project features a unique blend of personal introspection and diverse musical influences, crafted by Gino LaPosta with the collaboration of several talented guest musicians. LaPosta comments on the single:
“‘Insecurities’ was a track I had going on for a long time. I had almost every riff on this track written almost six years ago. I just never found any place to really put it. Musically, it has a darker tone. Also, progressive, with a thrashier ending. Lyrically, this is about my struggles with shyness which stopped me from completing many life experiences. But then breaking out of that shyness to finally be who I am.”
The single dives deep into LaPosta's personal battles with introversion and self-assertion, themes also explored in “Alone With My Thoughts”. Justyn Vynn's evocative vocals and guitar work bring an added layer of intensity to the track. The accompanying music video visually captures the raw emotion and transformative journey detailed in the song.
During the pandemic, when live performances were halted, Gino LaPosta took the opportunity to focus on creating music in his studio. This EP is a testament to his ability to draw from personal experiences and collaborate with a network of talented friends and family. This debut offering is recommended for fans of Dream Theater, Rush, and Tool.

Spread Thin is Wisconsin, USA’s explosive hardcore quartet and they are set to release their hostile debut full-length album “World of Snakes” on July 26th. In anticipation, they are premiering today, the video single “Factory Job”, a gritty and succinct look at the band’s unique blend of powerviolence, grind, and sludge that will draw in new fans and please existing ones. The band had this to say about the single:
“Working in a factory sucks. It’s very straining on your body, tedious, and downright cruel sometimes. You may end up working one for years and years until boom one day you get to retire. By that point, your body will more than likely be so worn out you don’t get to enjoy life at that point. This song is just a venting session for anyone out there who has had it, and damn near at the point where sanity is getting hard to maintain.”
“Factory Job” encapsulates the dynamic and speed fluctuations that define “World of Snakes”, and offers a powerful introduction to the band’s sound and sets the stage for the subsequent singles. Most songs on this record were written in a live atmosphere, with riffs and ideas developed together as a band, and Spread Thin aims to create an aggressive record with no filler, and they believe “World of Snakes” achieves that goal.
The band's relentless practice and dedication to a tight rhythm section, cutting through chainsaw guitar tones and barking vocals, ensure their live shows are a must-see for any hardcore fan. They are recommended for fans of Weekend Nachos, Gel, and Spy.
With breakneck thrash fury comes Canada’s Supermodel Taxidermy and their second EP “At What Cost”, releasing today (May 31st) on physical CD to follow its digital release on April 26th via Punishment 18 Records. With a track record of turning heads and pushing boundaries, they promise to deliver an electrifying blend of intense riffs, powerful vocals, and unbridled energy that will leave listeners craving for more. The band comments on what to expect:
“This album is going to exceed the expectations of our early listeners while also adding dynamics with new elements that we decided to enforce all over the record. Things such as Cheney’s crushing vocals. We do a lot of back-and-forth vocals on this record. This record was made to catch your ears with its intense guitar hooks, heavy drums, and catchy bass lines all while keeping your attention to the lyrical topics at hand.”
Lyrically, the majority of this album looks at death; a lot of the writings question the cause and effect of vices and the wrong choices that can be made throughout our lives. Musically this album is fast and heavy as hell. Supermodel Taxidermy wanted to have it throwing left hooks repeatedly, there are not many moments on this record when it gives you a break.
The band was formed after an overwhelming response to the EP “A Whorer Story”, which was intended to be a one-off solo record, and since then they have been staking a claim for themselves in the local scene. The album, ten tracks coming in at just under half an hour, was produced by Rob Lawless and mixed/mastered by Terry Paholek, showcasing the band's commitment to delivering an exciting listening experience. This thrash metal and hardcore punk collision is recommended for fans of Iron Reagan, Dayglo Abortions, and Slayer.

Get ready to experience the raw power thrash metal, infused with cultural influences in the debut EP from Saudi Arabia’s DUNE. “Years Of Chains” clocks in at a succinct 18 minutes, with four tracks, each full of tasty riffs, engaging vocals, and a variety of metal elements that keep listeners engaged and offer something new every playthrough. The EP is a testament to the band's relentless pursuit of heavy music with an aggressive feel and heavy melodies. DUNE shares their excitement for the release:
“Years of Chains” is an EP that we wrote years ago but didn’t get a chance to properly record due to multiple difficulties coming our way, after years we have chosen a list of the songs from the originals we have for the EP. The recording process was fun yet we looked for perfection to make the songs as we imagined them with the best quality that we could make.”
Known for their unique fusion of thrash metal with djent, nu metal, oriental, and groove metal influences, DUNE's sound is a sonic journey that defies traditional genre boundaries. The EP artwork represents the struggles that we all have, having parts of the lyrics from each song pouring into the skull head and then pouring from the eyes and mouth, a representation of struggles and spiral into madness and to a dark place.
“Years Of Chains” explores themes around culture, urban legends, and personal issues, providing listeners with a unique perspective on heavy music. DUNE's commitment to delivering an intense and fun experience with raging tones is evident in every track on the EP and is suitable for those who enjoy Testament, Slayer, Pantera, and Metallica.

Kicking off their 2024 Summer tour dates on May 31st that are in honor of guitarist Dallas Toler Wade's 50th birthday and the 10th anniversary of Narcotic Wasteland's self-titled debut album, the trio is unshackling their latest single "Barbarian" for the masses. The song will be featured on the band's forthcoming third full-length "Digital Cordyceps" out on Megaforce Records in 2024 (release date TBD).
Dallas Toler-Wade comments on the new track:
"Barbarian is one of my favorite songs I have written so far. The guitar work is thrashy but also has a neo-classical element to it. I love the mid-tempo churning bass drums that is no secret at this point. Lyrically the song is about my personal feelings on how I want to live my life, but also an observation of what is going on in the world right now. I am sure I am not the only one who sees we are living in an oligarchic society. Meaning we are in a society where only a chosen few have most of the political power. This has always disgusted me. I never needed a political leader or organized religion to tell me how to act, what to read or listen to, and who to vote for. I think it is all complete self-serving bullshit and I refuse to have any part in it. I am barbaric. I follow no rules but my own. I refuse to participate in a society that is untrustworthy, narcissistic, and completely selfish. So I choose a more nomadic life as far away as possible from all of the madness. I am here to entertain. It is my calling. I hope you enjoy the song!!!!! Thanks to all of the fans for your continued support and inspiration!!! Let's rise above and take our freedom back!!!!!"
And don't forget to brace yourself for a face-melting experience as Narcotic Wasteland announces a metal extravaganza like no other this summer! Their unholy crusade of show dates commences on May 31, 2024, in Crockett, CA, and continues its apocalyptic conquest through cities like Portland, Dallas, Austin, New Orleans, Tampa, and more, culminating in a final siege on July 7, 2024, in Saginaw, MI.
They are joined by special guests Whore of Bethlehem, Ignominious, Filth, and Malignancy (Headlining), who will conjure up nightmares with their savage performances.
From blistering guitar wails to heart-pounding drum onslaughts, every show promises to be an infernal ritual that will leave metalheads possessed by the spirit of pure chaos.
Prepare for a night of headbanging, mosh pits, and the unleashing of sonic hellfire.
