  • SEPULTURA @ Palladium Times Square (10/12/24)

Celebrating Life Through Death Farewell Tour 2024

For one last time in the New York, Sepultura originally from Brazil, made their last call to all of their fans in the big apple, and oh boy… oh boy… they did respond to the them in a big way.

The last show of their North American farewell tour was a beautiful rendition of the last decades of the band, gathering all of their signature  tracks for the last time for the big closing.

Original members Andreas K., Paulo Jr. and the rest of the members of the band made sure that everyone went home with something to remember their best the band and its music.

In my personal case, i’ve met Seputura around the time of ‘Morbid Visions’, saw them live for the first time on the ‘Chaos A.D.’ tour in South America, and after they did change their ways after their album ‘Bloody Roots’, they have never stopped giving their best and putting out the best music possible.

Each album after ‘Bloody Roots’, that came with a different touch, of course but also they came to is with a more mature and technical approaches that we never heard before.

After 3 times seeing them live with the post ‘Bloody Roots’ lineup , i can say (if there is something to say at all), is that Sepultura is closing its doors today but they have left us with a catalog of music of the highest levels of proficiency, musicianship and representation needed for all of the bands that are not originally from the United States.

Much success on their  new endeavors to each member of the band, we can only hope for the best for them and to hope that we can see them again, if that ever happens.

  • HIRAX at The Brooklyn Monarch (10/09/24)

As a fan of metal music for years and years, i can safely say that it was an immense surprise to had the experience of  being in front of the mighty Hirax, i mean for the first time and certainly not the last, i do hope.

The energy, the vibe, the whole long intro, guitars riffing and double drums a full and not to mention the continues push from vocalist Katon D Pena towards the crowd, the whole band made the whole thing a blast.

The complete set was filled with the thrash metal music that you must have only seeing on videos over the years, and now the music and its feel was right there for you infecting your ears and brain making you headband to the beat and to the constant control over the crowd.

    They must comeback soon!

  • SODOM at The Brooklyn Monarch 10/09/24

18 years took for the legendary German thrash band, Sodom to comeback to NYC and they did not disappoint.

By far the best show of the year as some of the concert goers said after the event.

Performing classics such as ‘Jabba the hut’, the Cripple, ‘The saw is the law’, ‘Nuclear Winter’, ‘Outbreak of evil’,  ‘Agent Orange’, and much more, Original members Frank ‘Blackfire’ and Tom ‘Angel Ripper’ provided along with their two new companions a metal night for the ages.

In a personal mote, it took me 32 years to see Blackfire on stage again and 38 years to see Sodom live. Oh well, “All the good things will come to those who wait.”

Hope they are back sooner than 18 years the next time around, maybe a full album tour or something. they are currently promoting the 30 years anniversary of the album ‘Tapping the vein’.

    Long life to Sodom!
