Decimate Metalfest is proud to announce its highly anticipated return for another electrifying weekend of heavy metal music, community camaraderie, and pure passion for the art form. Set to take place in Millet, Alberta (approx 40 kilometres south of Edmonton) at the Millet Agriplex Arena on June 7th and 8th, 2024, this year's edition promises to deliver an unforgettable experience for metalheads and music enthusiasts alike.

Renowned for its diverse lineup, Decimate Metalfest showcases the best in extreme metal, featuring a mix of established icons, rising stars, and underground favorites. Headlining this year's festival are Narcotic Wasteland and The Art of Deception, bringing their signature sound and energy to the stage. Joining them are a lineup of talented bands spanning various subgenres, ensuring there's something for every metal fan to enjoy.

But Decimate Metalfest is more than just a music festival – it's a vibrant community gathering where metalheads from all walks of life come together to celebrate their shared love for music. Following the raw emotional power of their 2023 debut album "Your Lie," released via Worm Hole Death Records, genre-defying metal outfit The Fixer returns with a new single, “It Will End Tonight”, as they gear up for a tour across five Canadian provinces, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta with fellow Thunder Bay comrades TEKNOSIS this coming October (dates listed below).

Performed live as a set closer, the single has already become a fan-favourite and now finally gets its official release. Written with live performance in mind, “It Will End Tonight” channels the band’s roots in hardcore, screamo, and punk, while weaving in their signature industrial and gothic textures. Drawing sonic inspiration from acts like Alexisonfire, Holly Springs Disaster, Rammstein, and Type O Negative, the single delivers a raw, melodic intensity that captures the cathartic energy of The Fixer’s live shows.

Lyrically, the song explores the painful clarity of realizing a situation won’t change, no matter how tightly you hold on. It’s about the strength it takes to walk away when staying only causes more harm.

“We’ve always written from a heartfelt lens. This track is no exception. It’s about fighting through darkness with love, and we think fans who connect with our emotional honesty will resonate deeply with it,” says the band.

The single’s artwork, created by Vicki Nerino, reflects this fiery emotional core, an elemental reinterpretation of The Fixer’s logo, inspired directly by the song’s intensity.

For fans of emotionally driven metal with theatrical flair, this tour is not to be missed. “It Will End Tonight” is just the beginning of what promises to be a transformative new chapter for The Fixer.

The Fixer hits the road with fellow Thunder Bay heavyweights Teknosis for the Ugly Knots Tour, a cross-Canada metal blitz that promises to be nothing short of explosive. Fans can expect new material, revived deep cuts, and the kind of emotionally charged performances that have become The Fixer’s trademark.

Pirosaint’s drummer, Ignacio Orellana has launched his new company, Aceite Diablo LLC.

Aceite Diablo is the culmination of a long journey that started more than a year and a half ago. Its products are a blend of devilish spices turned into a sinfully delicious oil created in Hell’s Kitchen, NY.

Ignacio Orellana have commented:

‘I’m located in Hell’s Kitchen, New York, where there are a big number of restaurants around with a variety of cultures. My family and I enjoy going out to eat at different restaurants and learning about new foods and flavors. After tasting many foods, we decided to create a product that would complement flavors from other cultures, while adding a little spice to it. Our product doesn’t change the original flavor of the food, but instead, adds a kick!

‘They were the most colorful band of the night, seriously. They brought everything that you see on the stage themselves and believe me when i say, they had a little something for everyone.

It was really fun to shoot them but i tried not to get to close to them because there were too many distractions and a lack of good lights to capture all the good details. The music sounded like Rob Zombie’s line of work at times more or less. I had seeing posters and signals that they existed through the years but I never had the chance to actually be at one of their shows. They were very cool! :-)’

'Second Hand Blood' contains 4 tracks that were recorded during the time that he was in the band. Around that time, Pirosaint went out and play live in many locations throughout Upstate NY supporting Death Angel, Marc Rizo, Static X, Alekhine's Gun and more. All the music was included on the album 'Know Thyself' released in 2021, but the lyrics were adapted by Billy Vanders to fit its intentions and capabilities when they were recorded back in 2016.

All the music and all the vocals were recorded between 2015-2016. Music recorded by Ignacio Orellana at Oily Sound Studios in New Windsor, NY. Vocals recorded by Mike Usifer at Beacon Soundworks, in Beacon, NY.
