Notes from Culled about the track:
Tomas “Tompa” Lindberg’s musical history with his various bands have had a huge influence on the metal and punk scene, but it is his work with Swedish Crust Punk bastards Disfear that really stood out for the members of Alberta’s Sludge Encrusted Grind band “Culled”. With the first anniversary of his passing from cancer coming up on September 16th the band wanted to pay tribute to his legacy by recording a cover of the song “Deadweight” from 2008’s “Live the Storm”. Not only is this d-beat masterpiece a sonic triumph in the Disfear discography, lyrically it is still very poignant to today’s charged climate and fitting with Culled’s stance lyrically and emotionally and impactful from the very first verse into the chorus…

“Propagating, entertaining, Rewriting and censoring
Our history desecrated adjust, adapt, obey
Teachers, media, politicians, and, yeah, your parents as well
Are either bought or just equally fucked

It's a one way communication, A deadweight population
It's a one way communication, I won't conform, no fucking way! “
