Anders Hegna takes the lead vocal role in AVRAK, the Norwegian heavy metal band he founded with Darkthrone's Ted Skjellum. Their self-titled debut studio album was released through Peaceville on October 9, 2026, and is available for streaming and download.
The band formed in 2023 with Hegna and Skjellum as its founding guitarists. Peaceville's release biography explains that Skjellum had ruled out handling main vocals from the beginning, leaving Hegna to assume that role.
The nine-track album includes “Unborn” and “The Lonely Shadow.” The latter is identified by Peaceville as the second single from the debut. Both songs were included in the singles selection accompanying the preserved press announcement.
Knut Magne Valle recorded, mixed and mastered the album at Mølla Studio in February 2026. His credits cover all three stages of the production.
Peaceville lists Hegna on guitars, vocals and bass. Skjellum's roles encompass guitars, Moog guitar/synthesizer, additional vocals and effects. The band's personnel also includes Terje Kråbøl on drums and Steinar Gundersen on bass.
AVRAK played their debut show in their local town of Porsgrunn in late April 2026, with Gundersen on bass. That performance followed the February studio sessions; the published band personnel listing does not separately establish Gundersen's participation in the album recording.
