The official music video for FALLEN LETTERS’ new single Hiraeth is available to watch. Released through Alterfate Records, a division of Sinusoidal Music Pvt. Ltd., the track follows A Familiar Absence and brings the Bengaluru progressive metal band’s more restrained, expansive writing into focus.

Across nearly six minutes, spacious guitars and layered synths move between quieter passages and broad melodic peaks. Vishal Naidu shifts from intimate vocals to soaring melodies, with guitar parts from Naidu and Aditya Ramesh supported by Abhay Prakash on bass and Mukund Narasimhan on drums. Naidu also handles synths in the band’s lineup. The arrangement reduces the aggression of the preceding single while retaining its emotional intensity.

The title draws on the Welsh word for a deep longing for a home, person or time that may be permanently lost—or may never have existed as remembered. FALLEN LETTERS develop that idea through lyrics about estrangement, fading memories and the search for someone whose emotional presence remains after their departure.

“I've been searching for ways / To be where you belong” expresses that search directly. Elsewhere, shadows moving through windows and corridors give the song’s memories a physical setting. A subtle cuckoo call, associated in the announcement with love and familiarity, introduces a brief sense of recognition within the melancholy. The song leaves its central longing unresolved, confronting the possibility that a return is no longer possible.

FALLEN LETTERS wrote Hiraeth, with lyrics and production by Vishal Naidu. Johan Martin mixed and mastered the track at Punch Sector Studios in Sweden, and Nicolás Oliveros supplied the artwork.

The release follows FALLEN LETTERS’ support appearance with OPETH in Bangalore, India, on October 4, 2026. Formed in Bengaluru in 2023, the band combines atmospheric restraint and heavier passages with songwriting centered on emotional and psychological themes.

Their debut album, Mindfractures, arrived in 2025 and has accumulated more than 150,000 streams, according to the announcement. FALLEN LETTERS have toured multiple Indian cities, received recognition from Rolling Stone India and The Hindu, and appeared on Spotify editorial playlists.
