SCARLET ANGER describe a move toward modern thrash and experimentation on Echoes of the Past, their fourth studio album, scheduled for January 22, 2027 via Metalville. The band say the new material explores different musical approaches while retaining their thrash metal roots.

“Our thrash metal roots are still clearly audible,” the band state, “but this time, we’re moving further towards modern thrash metal, experimenting with new elements and exploring different musical approaches. Our aim was to develop our sound further without losing our identity.”

The announcement describes the nine songs as more modern, mature and varied, reflecting the band's development over the years. SCARLET ANGER frame the album as a statement of where they stand today: maintaining their roots while continuing to develop their sound and pursue new possibilities.

Recording took place at guitarist Fred Molitor’s studio, where Molitor also handled the mix. Tony Lindgren mastered the album at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden. The band had previously worked with the studio on Freak Show, an experience the announcement describes positively.

Molitor designed the cover artwork, which fellow guitarist Jeff Buchette visually realised. Buchette also designed the booklet.
