LUGUBRIOUS GARMENT’s debut album, In The Wide Vale Of Uncreated Night, is available to hear in full on YouTube ahead of its October 16 release. 20 Buck Spin will issue the record on LP, CD and digital formats, with preorders available through the label webshop and Bandcamp.

The project is the work of Milan, Italy-based musician Gabriele Gramaglia, known for Cosmic Putrefaction and Vertebra Atlantis. Following 2025’s Demo MMXXV, LUGUBRIOUS GARMENT develops his interest in a raw, instinctive form of death metal while retaining the layered songwriting associated with his other work.

The announcement describes abrasive guitars, intricate rhythms and howling vocals, with lead guitar passages cutting across abrupt changes in pace. Classic heavy metal and speed metal elements also surface within the death metal arrangements. The emphasis falls on the interaction between tightly constructed playing and a more aggressive, momentum-driven approach.

Gramaglia wrote, recorded, mixed and mastered In The Wide Vale Of Uncreated Night at Crepuscular Sound Studio between fall 2025 and spring 2026. He performs guitars, vocals, bass and synths, and handles sound design. Claudio Invidia plays drums throughout the album, while Yr-nhhngr contributes additional vocals across the record.

The guest contributions extend to individual tracks. Giorgio Trombino supplies an additional solo in the closing section of “Transient Wounds, Spiritual Wilt.” Andrea Morgan performs violin and viola on “…And Therein Plant Unto Their Souls Asunder” and “Eternal Scars And Imperative Backfires.” Mariya Popyk, whose credits include Assumption and Tomarum, created the artwork.

The supplied press announcement includes advance responses from Decibel Magazine, No Clean Singing, Deaf Sparrow and Invisible Oranges. Decibel writes: “As an accomplished solo artist, with over a decade of recording and releasing extreme music under his belt, there’s nothing stopping him from crafting a work this insane. He went for it on this album, and now here we are.” No Clean Singing describes the music as “berserk — but also wildly unpredictable,” pointing to its shifts between swarming passages and melodic movement.

The announcement recommends LUGUBRIOUS GARMENT to listeners of Cosmic Putrefaction, Defacement, Black Curse, Absu and Ascended Dead. The full-album YouTube stream provides the early listening option ahead of the physical and digital release.
