The sorceress at the center of ORDEATHRAL’s second album, Medea, appears as both the executioner and the victim of her own destiny. The French symphonic black metal band presents a contemporary reinterpretation of the myth through a narrative told entirely in verse, with orchestrations from Studio Henosis.
The Bourges-based group released the eight-track album independently on September 26. Medea is available on the main digital services, including Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer.
ORDEATHRAL wrote all songs and lyrics. Studio Henosis also handled mixing and mastering, while the credits list the female voice as recorded by Murmure Marécage. Chromatorium created the album artwork.

ORDEATHRAL formed in 2014 after members of Darkness Embrace, active from 2009 to 2013, decided to disband their previous group. The band released its debut album, A Cell Made of Chalk, Coal and Blood, in 2016. That ten-track record explored various forms of madness and chaos; Medea follows it as the group’s second full-length.
The supplied discography also lists the independently released EP An Eternal Mirror from 2012, alongside the independent full-length releases A Cell Made of Chalk, Coal and Blood and Medea.
The lineup comprises Teddy on guitar and arrangements, Nicolas on bass and vocals, Salomon on guitar, and Benjamin on drums.
