• CAVALERA - ANNOUNCE 'THIRD WORLD TRILOGY' U.S. TOUR!

  CAVALERA has become synonymous with extreme metal music, a name that to this day still holds the highest regard, a family legacy built upon decades of musical aggression. In 2023, Max and Iggor Cavalera achieved what some would say was an impossible feat; they revisited their earliest releases, Morbid Visions, and Bestial Devastation, and re-recorded them with bone-breaking intensity. A risk that few would dare to even attempt, yet they artfully and prolifically attained their trademark raw sound by means that could only be described as magic or time travel. 
  
  Today, the band announce their 'Third World Trilogy' U.S. Tour. The 30-trek will kick off on February 19th at Queen B in Cottonwood, Arizona and will make stops in Seattle, Brooklyn, and Orlando before concluding at the Van Buren in Phoenix on March 30th. Joining the tour are Oakland death metallers NECROT and  California thrash/hardcore band DEAD HEAT.
  
  Max Cavalera states, "We are really excited to bring the 'Third World Trilogy', featuring Schizophrenia, to the US! If you want to hear  fast riffs, pummeling drums, thunderous bass, and schizophrenic leads, jump in our pit!!"

  No stranger to collaborations, the Cavalera brothers enlisted Travis Stone (PIG DESTROYER) on lead guitars, and that choice becomes obvious within the first song. The full lineup would consist of more Cavalera alumni, as Igor Amadeus Cavalera (GO AHEAD AND DIE, HEALING MAGIC) once more brought his talents on bass to the fold. Thundering and thrumming the low end with brute force, it is clear that the double Iggor and Igor combination is a rhythm section to be reckoned with. It should come as no surprise that the CAVALERA brothers always felt that these songs deserved a fresh take with modern production. From April 15th to June 5th, 2023 the band re-recorded the album at Focusrite Room in Mesa, Arizona. Mixing and mastering was handled by Arthur Rizk (SOULFLY, GO AHEAD AND DIE, TURNSTILE) and engineering was completed by John Aquilino. Schizophrenia’s album cover has obsessed and fascinated fans for decades. The brothers left no stone unturned and no detail unnoticed, also revisioning the original cover artwork of the album, restored in hand-painted watercolors by Eliran Kantor.

  With the impressive catalog that the CAVALERA brothers have created over the years, you will soon see that Schizophrenia will also sit amongst their greatest achievements. • Defeated Sanity Release Raging Double Guitar Playthrough

  Around this time last year, before the underground legends descended one last time into Menegroth, The Thousand Caves, Defeated Sanity felt like they were in need of an adjustment. Over the past 30 years, no other band has hit on more ways to spin death metal on its deformed head. But instead of concocting another heady bludgeoning of jazz-infused chaos, they wanted to double-down on the neck-snapping brutality that fans love about their earliest classics.
  
  Judging by the reaction to Chronicles of Lunacy, it's safe to say that Defeated Sanity delivered in skull-crushing spades. The band's new album cracked Billboard's Rock, Hard Music and Independent charts. 
  
  "There's something to love in everything Defeated Sanity has done, but I do think they may have veered a little too far on The Sanguinary Impetus for most listeners", Metal Injection wrote in their 9/10 review. "This is not a knock on Defeated Sanity but I think a recentering was definitely in order. And that's exactly what they accomplish on Chronicles of Lunacy".
  
  "Instead of doubling down on immense, yet spectacular, complexity...they go for the jugular", wrote PopMatters, who voted Chronicles of Lunacy one of the best metal albums of the year.
  
  As they gear up for their first headlining tour of Europe since 2018, today, Defeated Sanity are flexing their rabid technical chops with a double guitar playthrough of the album's most infectious deep cuts.

  Their new album speaks to one's inner caveman, but Chronicles of Lunacy isn't Defeated Sanity for dummies. Each song chews over the kind of individual thought patterns that can rot the human psyche, though "Extrinsically Enraged" wastes no time in hammering its point. "It's about contracting rabies", vocalist Josh Welshman says with a hearty laugh. Stoffey and Schmidt gnaw at their fretboards as if their mouths are foaming. Their squealing riffs and scurrying grooves will chew a hole through the toughest metalheads.

  To celebrate Chronicles of Lunacy, Defeated Sanity are embarking on their first headlining tour of Europe in six years. They'll be performing songs off their brutal new album alongside Wisconsin's Putrid Pile and To Violently Vomit Forth, a tribute to Disgorge that features current and former members of the legendary BDM band.
  
  Iniquitous Savagery, Strangle Wire, Asylum and Embryonic Devourment round out the two legs of this stacked bill.

  None of their albums are ever going to follow a straight line, but on Chronicles of Lunacy, Defeated Sanity return to sheer brutality.

  On signing to their new label, the band comment:

  "Salt and Ash begins with a reprise of the melody from Worthy Host that closed the album. We wanted to show that in one sense we’re picking up exactly where we left off and to tie the new songs to what came before. It was important that we respect our previous body of work but demonstrate that we’re not content to rest on our laurels and retread old ground, which is why the song immediately veers into absolute chaos. The new single marks the climactic finale to the terrifying music video trilogy, made in partnership with Versa Films, that has heralded their return from a decade long hiatus.
