EMBRYECTOMY have paired the release of their third album, Vitriolic Baptism, with a new visualizer for its title track. The nine-song record is out through Unique Leader Records, marking the Athens, Greece band's debut for the label.

The title track follows the previously released singles “Ecumenical Lobotomy” and “Chainsaw Symphysiotomy,” both of which also received videos. The announcement describes the album as six years in the making and identifies the band's approach as beatdown guttural slam.

In a statement supplied through Breaking The Law PR, EMBRYECTOMY said: “Unique Leader has provided us with a top-tier platform, that combines quality with musical malady, upon which we managed to spawn what can possibly be our heaviest release to date. We have christened (pun intended) this release 'Vitriolic Baptism'. Once again, Embry Kyle has risen from his ancient slumber to terrorize everyone in his path.”

The record includes a guest appearance by Tom “the SLAM OG” from Epicardiectomy on “Newborn Martyrdom.” Its running order is “Progeny Shredder,” “Ecumenical Lobotomy,” “Vitriolic Baptism,” “Chainsaw Symphysiotomy,” “Newborn Martyrdom,” “Cranioclastic Infanticide,” “Psychoneurotic Hecatomb,” “Sanctimonious Episcopicide” and “Carbonized Genesis.” Daemorph Art is credited with the album artwork.

The press announcement also collects early reviews that describe the record's musical approach. The Razors Edge points to “mid-tempo rhythms, breakdowns and plenty of palm-muted riffing,” placing its reference points alongside Suffocation and Internal Bleeding. Dead Rhetoric describes the album as “full of punishing slams and massive chugs, all set to the soundtrack of gurgling and bellows that the genre does well.” These are the reviewers' assessments rather than statements from the band.

Formed in Athens in 2013, EMBRYECTOMY previously released Gluttonous Mastication of Embryonic Remnants in 2016 and Flamethrower Ecdysis in 2020. Their catalogue also includes demos, singles and splits alongside Traumatomy, Cerebral Paralysis, Psychosomatic Self-Mutilation and Nephrectomy.

The announced lineup consists of vocalist Kyriakos Destounis, drummer Jake Gamble and guitarist Marinos Tountas. The band photograph supplied with the release announcement is credited to Dave Curtis. Vitriolic Baptism is available to purchase and stream in full through the supplied release destination.
