SZIVILIZS have shared “Fründ Hain,” the opening track from their second album, Totätänzer, through Dominance of Darkness’ official YouTube channel. Dominance of Darkness Records has announced CD and vinyl LP editions for December 17, without specifying a release year.

Drummer Dyet joins the project’s mainman, SZIVILIZS, on the new record. The announcement places Totätänzer within the Swiss act’s medieval black metal approach while identifying the Renaissance as its thematic focus.

The accompanying press release describes synthesizers, buzzing strings and howling vocals set against measured rhythms that are not exclusively slow. Its musical reference points range from early Abigor, Emperor and Behemoth to Lustre, Ungfell and Darkenhöld. These comparisons are presented by the announcement rather than as an assessment of the recording.

Alongside its historical setting, the album announcement emphasizes mortality across social ranks: “Death spares no one. It awaits us all, be it a farmer’s wife, a young upstart, or an emperor.” It also invokes snow-covered Alps and cold sandstone in describing the atmosphere intended for the record.

SZIVILIZS released their first demo in 2019. Three splits and an EP followed before the debut album, Grabsuchtslieder, arrived in 2022. Totätänzer follows that debut as the project’s second album.

The new announcement also presents the album cover, credited to Luciana Nedelea, and its eight-song running order. “Fründ Hain” is followed by “Kaisertod,” “Gaugäfäuder,” “Bärner Jungfer,” “Chlepfsaft,” “Minnesang,” “Das Landschnächtslied” and “Vo Siechä u Cheibä.”
