PERPETUAL WARFARE have released a music video for “N.N. (6402),” the Bogotá, Colombia band's second single following “Nihil Sumus.” Sung in Spanish, the track is available digitally and appears alongside its predecessor on a limited double A-side seven-inch.
Vocalist and guitarist Camilo Muñoz describes the song as an account of violence and an effort to preserve the experiences of its victims. In the announcement supplied by Secret Service Publicity, he explains: “‘N.N. (6402)’ tells a story that Colombia’s power elites have tried to hide. We are bringing it to light — no censorship, no curtains, just the reality that many Colombians lived through. No one can erase history.”
Muñoz adds: “This song is a tribute to all the victims of what we consider a state policy of genocide, people like you and me killed by the power of state.” His statement places the song within the band's established lyrical subjects, which include opposition to war, corruption, socio-political collapse and existential struggles.
The seven-inch pairs “N.N. (6402)” with “Nihil Sumus” on bone-colored vinyl, with a pressing limited to 300 copies. The announcement lists mail-order and purchases at the band's shows as the available sales channels, with online orders through M-Theory Audio and Bandcamp. Copies are dispatched from the United States or Colombia according to the buyer's location.
The announcement follows PERPETUAL WARFARE's signing with M-Theory Audio and also outlines plans for a full-length through the label, described in the source as due “next spring.” No album title or exact release date is supplied.
Brothers Camilo Muñoz, on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, and Wilson Muñoz, on bass, formed PERPETUAL WARFARE in 2006. Their debut album, Justicia, Libertad y Decadencia, followed in 2010. Subsequent full-length releases include The Age of War in 2013 and Earthliens in 2018, alongside EPs, singles and splits.
The quartet's background combines influences from 1980s Bay Area and Teutonic thrash with a modern approach to extreme metal. Drummer Esteban Díaz joined in 2014, while lead guitarist Camilo Solórzano joined in 2022. The band also established Wild Noise Productions as part of its independent activities.
The supplied biography reports performances in more than 20 countries, including South American headline tours, 35 United States shows and nearly a month of European dates with Japan's Abigail. Previous festival appearances include 70,000 Tons of Metal, Knotfest in Mexico and Colombia, Rock al Parque and France's Winter Rising Fest.
