ONLY HUMAN document their first headlining show in a live video for ‘Breach’, filmed in Copenhagen during the release party for their debut album, Planned Obsolescence. Announced through Season of Mist on October 6, 2026, the performance is the Danish progressive metal band’s first live video.

‘The release party for Planned Obsolescence was so special for us that we decided to document it’, ONLY HUMAN said. ‘It was our very first time headlining. Performing our new record in front of our home crowd was an incredible feeling. “Breach” ended the evening on an extremely high note! Special thanks to the whole team behind us for pushing the extra mile’.

Andreas Bjulver Paarup and Alice Meunier recorded the video. Mikki Christiansen handled sound engineering, Patrick Grønbæch Christensen mixed and mastered the live recording, Guillaume Blanjean edited the video, and Anni Klitmøller handled lighting.

‘Breach’ also closes Planned Obsolescence, which the announcement confirms is available through Season of Mist. The supplied album background places the song at the point where its dystopian narrative has passed the possibility of recovery. Across the record, the band combine progressive metal, djent, hard rock and electronic elements with themes of technological control and the treatment of people as disposable products.

‘The album is supposed to wake people up to all the ways technocracy is encroaching on society’, vocalist Christensen explained. ‘Tech companies often design their products to have an expiration date, so that we’re forced to replace them with the newest model. Through our social media and the adoption of influencer culture, we now live in a reality where humans are products to be consumed and disposed of’.

The announcement identifies ‘Automata’ as one of the first songs the band wrote together and the album’s lead single. Christensen connects its subject to decisions shaped by algorithms: ‘We’ve offloaded critical thought’. Electronic beats and synthetic textures form part of the record’s treatment of invasive technology, while ‘Techno Fascist’ addresses the same broader concerns. ‘Steep Descent’ went through several versions before the band settled on its bridge.

Christensen also describes a response to those concerns beyond the album’s dystopian setting: ‘Things aren’t hopeless. We can absolutely fight back. Hopefully, this album gets people to think about valuing humanity over profit’.

ONLY HUMAN began in 2022 with Christensen on guitar and vocals alongside drummer Andreas Pröll. Bassist Guillaume Blanjean joined them, followed by guitarists Martin Hastrup and JaCK Kijne in 2024 as the debut took shape. The supplied current lineup lists Christensen on vocals, Hastrup and Kijne on guitars, Pröll on drums and Blanjean on bass. The band’s name comes from a scene in The Matrix; their stated influences include drum ’n’ bass, Linkin Park, Opeth, TesseracT, Periphery and Bring Me The Horizon.

For the album, Christensen handled production, sound engineering and mixing, as well as digital and CD mastering. Brett Caldas-Lima mastered the vinyl edition, and Blanjean created the cover art. Listed physical formats are CD digipack, black 12-inch vinyl, transparent red vinyl with black and white splatters, and transparent red and black marbled vinyl.

The album’s eight tracks are:

  2. The Sun and the Moon (3:54)
  3. Steep Descent (5:56)
