The title track opens SCARBLADE’s nine-song album Guardians of Time and is also presented in a music video accompanying the announcement. The Gothenburg, Sweden heavy metal band list October 30, 2026 as the record’s digital release date and are signed to Wormholedeath.
SCARBLADE describe the album as a celebration of their return, emphasizing melodies, energetic performances and songs intended to remain with listeners. The announcement places its sound between traditional heavy metal foundations and a modern edge, with hooks and varied songwriting connecting songs that retain their own identities.
The press material lists Judas Priest, Doro, Iron Maiden and Twisted Sister as reference points for listeners. Those comparisons frame the announcement’s emphasis on classic heavy metal; the record’s stated approach also allows for different musical elements across its nine tracks.
The announced lineup features Alicke Kostopoulou on vocals, Johan Bernspång on keyboards and backing vocals, Viktor Heineson on drums, Jorge B’Atz on bass and Josip Markovic on guitar. Longtime guitarist Mathias Helgesson also contributed to Guardians of Time.
Vocalist Alicke Kostopoulou founded SCARBLADE in 2015. Their debut album, The Cosmic Wrath, followed through No Remorse Records in 2016, establishing the band’s combination of classic and modern heavy metal described in the announcement.
The band’s live background includes performances across Sweden and Europe and sharing stages with W.A.S.P., Kamelot and Doro at Skogsröjet Festival. SCARBLADE also reached the finals of the Gothenburg Metal Championship in 2024.
