  • NIGHT'S EDGE Announces New Album "The World That Never Was" Out Aug 2025 + New Music Video "If You Loved Me"

Baltimore, MD's NIGHT'S EDGE announces the release of their fourth studio album entitled "The World That Never Was" this coming August 21st, 2025 to follow their Strangers – LP (2023), Night's Edge - EP (2022), The Darkest Side of Dreams - LP (2020), and Shades of Dusk - LP (2019).

Since their inception in 2018, the band has gone through a few changes in lineup and sound, and has progressed significantly from their debut in 2019. Falling under the umbrella of Alternative Metal, Night's Edge's sound is hard to pin down. Incorporating influences from gothic metal, progressive rock, and nu metal, the band's music is equal parts heavy and poppy, soaked in synthesizers and drama. Lyrics breach topics including isolation, dissociation, and the romantic, approaching themes common to the human experience from a cerebral angle that complements the band's emotionally evocative music.

Night's Edge believes in creating music that has a purpose. There is no copy-cating of other artists, or following trends here - even the band's select cover tunes turn the originals on their heads. This is music that you can't get anywhere else, that has something to say, that is unique and exciting while still feeling familiar, like a friend finishing your sentences when you run out of words.

Their fourth full-length, "The World That Never Was," is a statement of songcraft and lyricism. The album flows and progresses clearly as it explores the concept of self-identity and the loss thereof. Moments of melancholy, anger, wonder, and plenty of crushing riffs elicit the stank face. Each single shows a different side of the album.

Brian Haran (Vocals, Bass, Keys, Programming) comments:

"We think our fans will love it and agree with us that it is, hands down, the best Night’s Edge album. There will be a lot of different opinions on which song is the best or who prefers this vs that, but all of those conversations will center around this LP. This album encapsulates the Night’s Edge sound we have been building towards while experimenting with new and innovative ideas. Our lead single, “If You Loved Me,” is the most straightforward song, with a massive chorus reminiscent of HIM that continues to build through the song towards an explosive conclusion. “Someone to Stay” is a guitar-forward track with great leads, a killer solo, and very Queensryche-esque vocals. We gave ourselves a challenge for the live shows, and I (singer, Brian) curse myself for recording this song like this every time we play it live. “Smite” is the album’s heaviest song and has major Slipknot and Ghost influences. It is weirdly danceable right up until the Latin choir bridge and eventually descends into IOWA-esque screaming right before a caveman breakdown. “Love Fiction” is unique for Night’s Edge, very Deftones influenced, but with a synthwave twist featuring rare falsetto vocals. The lyrics describe the romanticization of one’s depression as a safe, never-leaving partner, “Songs in Grey Space II: Soaring” is two and a half minutes of balls out symphonic alternative metal and the middle piece in a three song suite detailing a parable of self-identity in an alternate world where the narrator is the last person on earth."

Night's Edge has unveiled two singles to date, "If You Loved Me" and album opener "Someone To Stay," with more to be shared in the lead up to the record's release in August.

The trio adds about the singles:

If You Loved Me: “All three of us love this song. It has everything – a massive chorus, a scorching guitar solo, and some unexpectedly creepy, heavy sections. A LOT of ground gets covered in under four minutes. The lyrics are a scathing reflection on manipulation, with changing perspectives between the verses and choruses. Above all, the song is inimitably Night’s Edge. This is a sound that you can only get at one place – here, with us.”

Someone to Stay: "This is our guitarist, Damian’s favorite song. The song began with a riff that Damian wrote as an intro lead. When coming up with the intro riff, he was hoping to capture “anime-intro” level energy, and we all agreed that it would make the perfect introduction to the album! Brian took that intro riff and created a very guitar-focused song out of it. The music primes the listener for the progressive compositional journey that is the rest of the album, but the song itself is easily digestible with fun riffs and catchy vocal hooks."

  • Dutch Futuristic Metallers CRYPTOSIS Release New Video for "In Between Realities"

Dutch futuristic metallers CRYPTOSIS have recently unleashed their mighty and awe-inspiring sophomore album, 'Celestial Death,' via Century Media Records.

Today, to continue building momentum around the album’s release, and ahead of CRYPTOSIS’ upcoming tour kick-off next week, the band has shared a brand-new music video for "In Between Realities." Produced once again by acclaimed film production company F/53, the video is based on live footage from the 'Celestial Death' album release show at Enschede’s Metropool venue.

CRYPTOSIS checked in with the following comment about the track:

We’re proud to present the live video for 'In Between Realities', captured during the CRYPTOSIS album release show at Metropool, Enschede (The Netherlands) on March 29, 2025. The song explores the story of a person caught between two worlds: the physical reality we all know, and a highly immersive, almost perfect virtual reality. In this VR world, life feels ideal, exciting, beautiful, and full of purpose, while the real body is slowly being neglected and forgotten.

"It’s a reflection on modern escapism, technology, and the thin line between living and existing. Experience the energy of the live show and the depth of the concept. Let us know in the comments: Where do you draw the line between reality and illusion?”

'Celestial Death' was recorded by Olaf Skoreng at Tom Meier and Studio Moon Musicbetween April and August 2024, mixed by Fredrik Folkare at Chrome Studios (Unleashed, Necrophobic, Hellbutcher) in Sweden and finally mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Studios (Arch Enemy, Borknagar, Amorphis) in Sweden too. The album is the follow-up to CRYPTOSIS’ acclaimed 'Bionic Swarm' debut album (2021) and the EP 'The Silent Call'(2023), it once more comes with artwork by Eliran Kantor (Kreator, Testament, My Dying Bride) and also showcases the group on a darker, heavier, more melodic and extremely cinematic journey across its 11 tracks / 42 minutes of playing time.

  • Sinsaenum Return With Third Album "In Devastation" Out 8/8 + Share Video for Title Track

Extreme metal supergroup Sinsaenum have announced their long-awaited return with the release of their crushing new single, "In Devastation," the title track of their forthcoming third studio album, due out later this year via earMUSIC.

The release marks the band's first new material since the tragic passing of legendary drummer Joey Jordison (Slipknot, Murderdolls) in 2021. Both the single and album serve as a cathartic tribute to Jordison and to guitarist and founder Frédéric Leclercq's late father, whose deaths profoundly shaped the emotional and creative direction of the project.

"I was devastated, hence the title of this album," Leclercq explains. "But we knew we had to carry on. This record is our tribute to my father, to Joey, and to anyone who's ever had to find strength in their darkest moments."

Listen to the new single here.

Watch the new music video here

In Devastation is a 10-track tour de force of blackened death metal infused with Sinsaenum's signature melodic ferocity and experimental edge. Produced and mixed by acclaimed German audio engineer Lasse Lammert, the album explores new sonic territory for the band, blending intricate progressive elements, clean vocals, and even cello — without ever compromising their brutal core.

Joining Leclercq on this latest chapter are returning members Attila Csihar (Mayhem), Sean Zatorsky (Dååth), Stéphane Buriez (Loudblast), and Heimoth (Seth). Stepping in behind the kit is Andre Joyzi, formerly Jordison's tech and a trusted member of the band's touring family — chosen not only for his skills, but for the emotional connection he brings to continuing Jordison's legacy.

Tracks like "Obsolete and Broken" and "The Last Goodbye" showcase the band's musical and emotional evolution, from raw aggression to haunting reflection. Leclercq describes the latter as "the most personal we've done," while songs like "Shades of Black" and "Over the Red Wall" push the band into new anthemic and speed-driven territory.

Following the critically acclaimed Echoes of the Tortured (2016) and Repulsion for Humanity (2018), In Devastation cements Sinsaenum's place at the vanguard of modern metal — a band forged in grief but fueled by defiance.

  • Vancouver Prog Collective MONIKER Unveils New Music Video "Hindsight

Brewed in a basement suite fueled by the lust for bringing their hometown of Vancouver, BC, something it's never heard of before, the members of progressive collective Moniker, whom all met as students while attending Audio Engineering school, returns with its next taste of new music, "Hindsight" to follow single "From The Grave" released March 31st of this year and their first self-titled full-length unleashed back in 2021.

"You normally had either brutal death metal or indie rock. Bringing melodic progressive metal to this city was our goal, and we are back to finish it," adds the band.

Before the digital single for "Hindsight" is officially available on June 6th, 2025, on all platforms, the progressive quintet is unveiling its music video that can be viewed below.

The band comments on the track:

"To those who know us, it will be just as everyone expects, for those who don't know us, prepare for the unexpected. This single gives a balance between clean melodies and delay-saturated guitar licks, all the way to soul-crushing riffs with gut-wrenching screams. Time flows on and on, whether we want it to or not. Our vision may be clouded, but hindsight is 20/20."

With its melodic sense, progressive and sizzling heavy riffs, and soaring vocals, Moniker is recommended for fans of Tool, Deftones, Trivium, Leparous, and Killswitch Engage. Watch and listen to "Hindsight" at the following link:
