  • Thornhill Unleash New Era ‘BODIES’ + Drop Explosive Single ‘Silver Swarm’ + Announce First-Ever US Headline Tour!"

Australia’s genre-defying heavyweights Thornhill are back with their most ambitious chapter yet. The band has announced their third studio album, ‘BODIES,’ set for release on April 4th, 2025, via UNFD. Following the success of their recent single “nerv,” Thornhill continue to break boundaries with the release of their blistering new track “Silver Swarm,” accompanied by an intense music video. The band has also unveiled details of their first-ever North American headline tour, kicking off in Los Angeles on April 11th, 2025.

Tickets for the US headline tour will go on sale at 10am local on Friday, January 31st HERE

Thornhill’s new single “Silver Swarm” dives deep into the emotional depths of the chaotic manipulation and push-and-pull of love, control, and self-doubt experienced in toxic relationships. Speaking on the new track, Thornhill vocalist Jacob Charlton elaborates:

“‘Silver Swarm’ is a visceral exploration of the emotional labyrinth created by overwhelming feelings and the toxic pull of manipulation. The track vividly captures the experience of being ensnared in an intense, destructive relationship, where one is both irresistibly drawn to and desperately repelled by the manipulator’s influence. The ‘Silver Swarm’ becomes a powerful metaphor for the invasive thoughts and emotions that consume and cloud the protagonist’s sense of self. With its dynamic shifts in tone and intensity, the song mirrors the chaotic push and pull of such a relationship, oscillating between fear, confusion, and moments of clarity. It’s a haunting portrayal of the internal conflict that arises when love, control, and toxicity become entangled, leaving the listener to confront the complexity of being trapped in something both harmful and compelling.”

In celebration of the new album, for the first time ever, Thornhill will headline stages across North America in Spring 2025. The ‘BODIES’ North American Headline Tour kicks off on April 11th at The Echo in Los Angeles and features support from AVOID, Ocean Grove, and Banks Arcade. Tickets go on sale at 10am local on Friday, January 31st HERE

Commenting on their first ever US headline run, Thornhill shares:

“We couldn’t be more excited to announce our very first North American headline tour! It’s something we’ve dreamed about for years, and now it’s finally happening. We’re bringing along some incredible friends—AVOID, Ocean Grove, and Banks Arcade—and trust us, this lineup is going to deliver a high-energy show from start to finish. We’re so gassed to bring the songs of our new album ‘Bodies’ to the stage.”

  • Streaming Now! Prog Collective LUNAR Unveils Groundbreaking Concept Album “Tempora Mutantur”

Sacramento, USA’s progressive metal pioneers LUNAR are set to release their most ambitious project to date, “Tempora Mutantur” on January 31, 2025. A meticulously crafted concept album that explores the intricate passages of time, personal transformation, and emotional landscapes, the record represents a milestone in the band's continuing musical evolution. They comment on the release:

“We’re very excited to present our new album “Tempora Mutantur” to the world! This album is more thematic rather than conceptual like the last album. This album deals with something everyone can relate to and no one can escape: the passing of time. As we get older, our perspective changes, we gain some things, and lose others… sometimes the things and ones we love. And we struggle and fight along the way.”

Lunar hopes that fans will be able to resonate with the album and find some solace in it as it is highly relatable to the theme of time passing. Continued and driven by drummer and primary songwriter Alex Bosson (Helion Prime, Planeswalker) after the passing of co-band founder Ryan Erwin in 2018, the album is the result of a deeply personal and introspective creative process.

The album's eight tracks weave a complex narrative that explores themes of seasonal change as metaphors for personal growth, mental health, and the passage of time. From the opening track to the three-part title suite that closes the album, Lunar demonstrates its unique ability to transform personal struggles into universal musical statements that resonate with listeners on multiple levels. The album is recommended for fans of Haken, Tool, and Porcupine Tree.

Listen to the album stream premiere of “Tempora Mutantur” via Decibel Magazine HERE.

Lunar's fresh lineup features guitarists Carlos Alvarez and Connor McCray (Vis Mystica) along with keyboardist Anthony Stahl plus album guests Wayne Ingram (Wildrun), Joe Gullace (Thank You Scientist), and Sam Vallen (Caligula's Horse).

A studio project since first conceived in 2014, LUNAR will make its live debut next year at the 2025 Hyperspace Metal Festival in Vancouver, BC, Canada on April 11th. Info here.

LUNAR's "Tempora Mutantur" will be available from Saibot Reigns Records as of January 31st, 2025.

  • FROGG To Deliver A Sonic "Eclipse" of Bold, Modern Metal w/ Debut Album Coming March 2025

Frogg, the technical metal sensation from New York, USA, announces they will unveil their debut album "Eclipse" in March 2025. A long time in waiting, this first full-length features ten tracks of heavy, raw, progressive, and avant-garde thinking metal.

Over the last two years, the band has been unraveling singles such as "Double Vision Roll", "Dandelion", and "Wake Up" with music videos, all of which will be showcased on the record that was co-produced by Frogg guitarist/vocalist Sky Moon Clark and Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Contortionist, Scale the Summit).

The singles each exhibited different stylistic strengths, "Wake Up" being more progressive, "Dandelion" and "Double Vision Roll" more in the vein of something between death metal and prog metal. At the end of the day, Frogg is an amalgamation of the music the quartet enjoys, and that’s what the band is and why they sit in between a few key sub-genres.

"A sonic eclipse where every genre collides—progressive, technical, and just enough death to keep your neck sore for weeks." adds the band's newest addition bassist Ethan Emery (Survive The Sun & Absurd Condition).

"The people who are already faithful to FROGG will find as much of the stuff that they signed up for as surprises. We don’t operate in one genre all the time," adds drummer Will Brown.

Lyrically, the record explores Mythology from various places along with tying tales and emotions together. Fans can expect seasonal singles from Frogg going forward as they already have plans for follow-up singles to come real soon after the album's release.

FROGG’s main ambition is to hit the live circuit with a perfected performance and its brand-new line-up. With performance in mind, FROGG has been relentlessly rehearsing new original material and old, to deliver an authentic live experience.

Committed to technical excellence and progressive innovation, Frogg is recommended for fans of weird and wild, and fans who appreciate bands such as Protest The Hero, Between The Buried And Me, Zenith Passage, Unexpect, and Obscura.

"Eclipse" is due out on March 7, 2025, and is available for pre-order at https://froggofficial.bandcamp.com.

  • Poison the Well Return + Drop First New Song in 15 Years With "Trembling Level" Video

POISON THE WELL released the definitive album The Opposite of December... A Season of Separation in December 1999 and it went on to become a benchmark of the genre that has inspired a generation of bands. The album was chosen as one of the "15 '90s Metalcore Albums That Still Resonate Today" by Brooklyn Vegan; as one of the "21 Best U.S. Metalcore Albums of All Time" by Kerrang!; as one of the "25 Best Metalcore Albums of All Time" by Loudwire; and as one of the "Top 60 Best Hard Rock Albums of All Time" by Revolver. Its influence is indisputable.

But the band is not content to rest on the laurels of its past achievements, as mighty as those achievements are.

Instead, PTW are looking forward in 2025 by releasing their first new song in 15 years with "Trembling Level."

    Watch the video here

"Trembling Level" finds Poison the Well in top form. Harmonics pierce the armor of a thick riff, and a guttural groove tosses and turns beneath Jeff Moreira's hard-hitting screams. The barrage subsides on an arresting bridge anchored by a dramatic drumroll. A final melodic warning, "Don't you let the silhouettes lead you to the ocean floor," gives way to one last pit-splitting breakdown.

"For me, I was trying to figure how to effectively incorporate elements from our whole discography into one song," guitarist Ryan Primack reveals. "We ended up with this, and it has a little bit of everything we've done throughout the course of our existence."

"Lyrically, it's about tackling a fear," says Moreira. "I tend to write based on personal experience. You're approaching something you're scared to do, going through it, and realizing the hardest parts are actually the ones you should be looking towards because those will lead you to success.”

In other Poison the Well News, the band has signed with SharpTone Records. More new music is expected, so stay tuned. The band also fortifies its ranks by officially welcoming bassist Noah Harmon and guitarist Vadim Taver into the fold. Both musicians have played with the group for
years. Now, they round out the lineup.

Last year, PTW announced a massive 25th anniversary tour celebrating The Opposite of December... A Season of Separation this spring.

PTW will be playing the beloved album in full every night, making it show not to be missed.

Glassjaw, Better Lovers, and Teenage Wrist will serve as support. New dates have been added in Mesa, Arizona and Lawrence, Kansas.

  • Behemoth Unveil New Album "The Shit Ov God" + Share Video For Title Track

Extreme metal giants BEHEMOTH have revealed the title, cover art, and release date of their upcoming new opus, The Shit Ov God, which is due to be released on May 9 via Nuclear Blast Records. Alongside the title track, which is streaming now, an opulent music video premiered at 10am ET today. Scroll down for the link.

BEHEMOTH have always been known for not shying away from controversy, and they most certainly remain true to this approach with their 13th full-length. Here's a band that, 34 years in, is releasing its most inflammatory and extreme record to date. Eight songs that go into the fathoms of humanity, divinity, and what defiance means in an age where individuality is prized but everyone is clinging to their saviors — musically, politically, or otherwise. The title of the album is in line with those sensibilities.

Intentionally polarizing, founder and frontman Nergal says of the title, "We chose this provocative title deliberately, rejecting subtlety in favor of a direct and polarizing statement. It's a defiant plunge into the depths, daring to seek the absolute even in the gutter."

But make no mistake, despite its apparent insubtlety, the album title gets a touch of genius when seen in combination with the strikingly clever artwork, which depicts an upside-down version of the most common Christogram "IHS."

NERGAL commented, "I've reached a point in Behemoth's journey and my own creativity where words and statements mean less and less. The true essence of who we are and what we stand for lies in our music, our art, our visuals, our sounds, our performances, and the ways we connect with you. I deeply believe Behemoth represents transcendent, timeless art.

"The number thirteen—so magical and significant. If this were to be our final album, I could say I die a proud man. Without a shadow of a doubt, this is the most refined, purest representation of Behemoth. No filler, no excess — just the very best we have to offer, handed to you.

    "Hail Satan."

BEHEMOTH meticulously chose the audiovisual artists involved on the album. Production on the album was helmed by the inimitable Jens Bogren of Fascination Street Studios (Emperor, Enslaved, Kreator, Rotting Christ et al.). Working closely with the band, Bogren's deft hand underscored the band's natural sound while sacrificing none of the mayhem and ferocity which permeates the band's essence. As is always the case with Behemoth, the visuals were as carefully constructed as the sound. The band tapped long-time collaborator and partner in crime Bartek Rogalewicz (BLACK.LODGE.IS.NOW) as well as Dark Sigil Workshop to make the beautifully ominous and unique cover-art.

Don't forget to catch BEHEMOTH live on their Unholy Trinity headline tour with Satyricon and Rotting Christ in Europe. Tickets are available here.
