  Exitus Stratagem Records is proud to announce that Tennessee thrashers Quiescent Mantis will perform on MOSHIGAN 2025, the first annual cancer benefit event presented by Michigan Metal Fest and Q106 FM and hosted at The Music Factory in Battle Creek, Michigan, on Saturday, May 3rd.

  All of the proceeds from this event will go directly to a selected 2025 beneficiary. This inaugural Moshigan begins a planned annual event to benefit cancer patients in the surrounding areas.

  Quiescent Mantis' debut album “Here Comes The Swarm” was produced by Yanic Bercier (Quo Vadis, Gone In April) at WaveTransform Recording Studio and unleashed in July 2024 on Exitus Stratagem Records. The genre-defying release blends elements of hardcore, thrash, death, and metalcore into a whirlwind of relentless aggression.

  Formed during the tumultuous COVID-19 lockdown, Quiescent Mantis emerged from the fusion of former scientists Chris Trainor, Jordan McKenzie, and Johnny Mejia. Previously employed by the enigmatic Sub-atomic Weight Of Acceleration Research Mechanics (S.W.A.R.M.), the trio embarked on a musical journey after inadvertently opening a doorway to the mantis homeworld during a particle collision experiment, exposing themselves to a mind-altering pheromone. Thus, the Chapter 1 demo was born in 2021.

  Inspired by a love for old science fiction movies and thrash metal, Quiescent Mantis presents a unique, aggressive, groovy, heavy, and relentless sound that blends old-school metal techniques with new-school innovations. The band aims to provide listeners with a groundbreaking experience, combining elements of classic and contemporary metal in a manner never before heard. They are recommended for fans of Orbit Culture, Havok, and Power Trip.

  Corby sextet RAGING SPEEDHORN return with a new, wrestling-themed music video for "Every Night's Alright For Fighting" off of their upcoming album 'Night Wolf', out on March 7th via Spinefarm.

  “We all love the late 80’s/90’s wrestling era (the Golden age) and this is a video we have wanted to film for a long time.   'Night Wolf' marks another powerful collaboration between RAGING SPEEDHORN and acclaimed producer Russ Russell (Napalm Death, At The Gates, and Dimmu Borgir) at Kettering's Parlour Studios. Having previously helmed the band's 'Lost Ritual' and 'Hard To Kill' albums, Russell helps deliver 10 ferocious, riff-centered tracks that showcase the band's signature intensity.    “I think ‘Night Wolf’ is more of a progression of the last record,” states ringleader Morison, “that's what we've gone for really. When we first got back together after our hiatus, we didn't really know what we wanted to do. [2016’s] ‘Lost Ritual’ came quite quickly, because we didn't have enough time to write it. With [2020’s] ‘Hard To Kill’, we took more time to do it, and with‘Night Wolf’ we've taken a lot of time to do it really, we just wanted to make sure it was right this time. It's probably the longest we've ever taken to write a record; we wanted to make sure it was just right, and we were happy with it before we went in to record.”

  Italian experimental metal outfit SVNTH has just released their single “Cinnamon Moon” off their forthcoming album “Pink Noise Youth” out on These Hands Melt Records this coming April 2025. “Cinnamon Moon" showcases SVNTH's distinctive approach to genre-blending, weaving together elements of blackgaze and post-hardcore to create a deeply personal sonic landscape. The track stands as an emotional open letter, chronicling the complex journey of late youth through a rich tapestry of sound that includes slowdive-inspired ethereal delays, black metal screams, and the unconventional incorporation of the electric Indian sitar. The band shares their thoughts on the single:

  “It unveils some of the most interesting features offered on the album in terms of sound and mood. With its captivating mix of blackgaze and post-hardcore, the song is an open letter soaked in fragility and emotional exposure, delivered to a loved one as a memorial of the hampered paths walked together on the road of late youth.”

  While their earlier work explored life's struggles through a childhood lens, “Pink Noise Youth” examines the chaos and emotional instability of early adulthood, giving voice to a generation as unpredictable as its namesake audio phenomenon.

  The wait is over as Montreal, Canada's heavy metal visionaries Mad Parish release their highly anticipated concept album “The Dust Of Forever". Available now on all major platforms as of Jan 31st, this ambitious project marks a new pinnacle in the band's decade-long journey. “The Dust Of Forever” is not just an album; it's a multi-faceted experience that pushes the boundaries of heavy metal storytelling. Spanning 21 tracks, the album weaves an original narrative following Joe, an immortal protagonist caught in a universe-threatening cataclysm. The band shares how the album came to be:

  “The album has interesting origins. A song from our first album was inspired by a comic book. After Bob joined the band, he mused about what would happen if this priest from the comic discovered that he was immortal, and the song “The Dust Of Forever” was written. Once we started writing some more songs we discussed what kind of album to make next. That is when we came upon the idea of expanding this world we were writing about, and making a concept album.”

  Going full-on, epic prog metal was a big challenge for Mad Parish and they set out to write a story that they would tell through the songs, and decided to create a companion comic book to accompany the album. Creatively, this is the most adventurous thing they’ve done to date.

  From the opening “Prologue” to the climactic “Hail To The Hunter”, listeners are taken on an immersive journey through a richly imagined world. The album showcases Mad Parish's evolution, blending their NWOBHM-inspired roots with progressive rock structures, 70's rock swagger, 80's new wave textures, and even hints of classical and jazz. This eclectic mix results in a sound that's uniquely Mad Parish – heavy, melodic, and deeply atmospheric. It is recommended for fans of Iron Maiden, Rush, and Rainbow.
