PYTHONIC New Video Is Here To "Set You Free"

L-R - Ryan Hunter (Lead Guitar), Vincent Kohut (Rhythm Guitar & Backing Vocals), Max Hiske (Bass), Morgan Warriner (Vocals), Jayden Warriner (Drums)

Saskatoon's Pythonic erupts into a new era with the release of their brand‑new music video for “Set You Free”. The video is unleashed in support of the band’s third EP, "Laws of Karma," unveiled on July 10th, 2026, marking the most aggressive and evolved chapter in the band’s history.

The current lineup stands as a rebirth, a heavier, tighter, more destructive force rising from the ashes of the old formation. As the band states.

“Raw energy at the helm and a more aggressive attack brings forth our new direction and sound on some groovy tracks.”

“Set You Free” is one of Pythonic’s most explosive tracks, a blistering death‑groove assault that confronts corruption and abuse within organized religion. Its lyrical message is “Set you free from this holy lie… Religion spreads hate, Pedophiles rule the world, and the bible is blasphemy.”

Musically, the track is a long‑developed, driven banger by lead guitarist Ryan Hunter featuring a crushing verse riff that has dominated their live sets. It has a ripping solo that fans have already latched onto, along with its joint vocals from frontman Morgan and guitarist Vincent, who amplify the track’s intensity. Chosen as a single for its sheer impact and replay value,

“While evaluating the mixes, this was definitely a track everyone went back to over and over to listen to. The song’s core riffs never really changed… they were just such solid riffs over the years and got the crowd moving,” says the band.

Pythonic's latest third EP, "Laws of Karma," presents the final transformation from the band’s past into their sharpened, heavier identity. These songs are the last to carry any remnants of the original vocalist, now fully rewritten and reborn.

“We have shed our skin to come out bigger and better than ever before,” adds the band.

Across "Laws of Karma," Pythonic delivers an arsenal of aggressive, groovy, raw, thick, and dirty riffs that push the band deeper into death‑metal and slam territory. The EP hits harder than anything they’ve released before, packed with sharper solos, tighter grooves, and a destructive energy fueled by deeply personal lyricism rooted in trauma, recovery, and existential turmoil. Every word was written by vocalist Morgan Warriner, who crafted the EP during a period of physical immobility and emotional hardship, channeling the band’s collective experiences with disability, surgery, abusive relationships, fractured identity, and karmic consequence. Each track carries its own wound and its own reckoning: “Sentience” confronts awakening and fractured reality; “Venom” chronicles surviving abuse and reclaiming self‑worth; the title track “Laws of Karma” delivers karmic justice toward a former band member; “Set You Free” tears into religious harm and hypocrisy; and closer “Feed the Flames” dives into demonic consequence, biblical imagery, and fear.

The artwork, created by @apocalyptic.nuke, depicts a figure impaled on a liberty scale within a hellscape, giving a visual metaphor tied directly to the EP’s title track.

“We called the EP ‘Laws of Karma,’ hence why we used a liberty scale to impale the figure onto,” the band adds.

Pythonic’s live reputation has surged across Western Canada, earning praise from scene veterans including Stu Block (Into Eternity), Matt Cuthbertson (Untimely Demise, Into Eternity), and Sean Watson (Display of Decay). Their performances at Slaughter Fest, Serenade Metal Fest, and multiple tour dates with Exit Wound have cemented their status as one of the region’s most explosive rising acts.

Recommended for fans of Lamb of God, Black Dahlia Murder, Death, Morbid Angel, Devildriver, Pantera, and 200 Stab Wounds, Pythonic's "Laws of Karma" (released July 10th, 2026) is available on all digital platforms.
