The official lyric video for Thoughts & Prayers accompanies GREY SKY BLEED’s new single featuring Kärtsy Hatakka from Waltari. Released via Art Gates Records, the track previews Only Dust You Are, the Finnish progressive/heavy metal band’s upcoming album, due November 20, 2026.
The song addresses the distance between public expressions of concern and meaningful action. Its lyrics confront unchecked greed, hatred and environmental destruction, using the image of Gabriel’s trumpet sounding over a burning world to question a preoccupation with carefully managed appearances.
GREY SKY BLEED explain the frustration behind the track: “The world is burning and Gabriel is blowing his trumpet. Instead of taking actions to improve things, people seem to be more concerned with how their social media profiles look… Even Finnish calmness can’t stay under the shell in the face of this stupidity anymore. A song emerged from this frustration as if by itself.”
Thoughts & Prayers follows the earlier singles Plague Mind, The Serpent With The Crown and We Share The End. The announcement cites Cormac McCarthy’s novel The Road as an inspiration for We Share The End; the new single turns its attention to present-day warning signs.
Pre-orders for Only Dust You Are are open. The announced packs include reduced prices and exclusive items that, according to the announcement, will no longer be offered for sale after the pre-order period closes.
