GWAR AND JOE BOB BRIGGS – GWAR: ‘Splatter-Fu’ Video Introduces GWAR and the Last Drive-In-Stein

GWAR have released the official video for ‘Splatter-Fu,’ a new single written specifically for the band by John Brennan. The track accompanies the announcement of GWAR and the Last Drive-In-Stein, an album bringing together GWAR, Joe Bob Briggs and music from John Brennan and the Bigfeet.

Due November 13 on vinyl through Pit Records, the album draws on the musical world of The Last Drive-In. Its first side documents GWAR’s performance from the show’s 2025 Halloween special, combining the band’s originals with covers of songs associated with Briggs’ show.

Side B turns to John Brennan and the Bigfeet, the program’s house band, with songs written for its final two seasons. The collection is the group’s third official soundtrack release connected to The Last Drive-In.

The release celebrates more than four decades of GWAR and 40 years of Briggs on television as a film critic, commentator and entertainer. Briggs’ career has centered on drive-in movies, horror and exploitation cinema; Blothar’s accompanying statement also places horror among GWAR’s inspirations.

Blothar said: “Lordy Lordy, look who’s 40! GWAR and Joe Bob Briggs. A match made in hell! I love horror movies, trash, and funny spooky stuff. GWAR wouldn’t exist without it. I was just a calf when creepy Joe Bob reached up my poodle skirt at the last Drive-in. He promised he’d make me a star… Now we’ve made a record together!”

Briggs added: “To create the real spirit of Halloween, I called up my buddies – the intergalactic warriors who live in Antarctica – and I asked them to bring some fear, some filth, and some fun. Of course you know whom I’m talkin’ about… the Scumdogs of the Universe… GWAR!”
