The official music video for ‘In The Dead Of Night’ accompanies CROWNSHIFT’s announcement of The Shadows We Buried. The Finnish quartet’s second studio album will be released worldwide on January 29, 2027, on LP, CD and digital formats.
Available now, ‘In The Dead Of Night’ is the album’s lead single and fifth track. The announcement describes its driving rhythms and sweeping atmospheres as an introduction to the record’s combination of modern melodic death metal riffs, progressive elements, vocal hooks and dark cinematic textures.
The Shadows We Buried follows the band’s self-titled debut and an extensive touring cycle. That period included Finnish festival appearances, shows across Europe, a European support tour with Dirkschneider (UDO), and performances on the 2025 edition of the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise. The supplied announcement connects that experience on the road to the new album’s musical development, describing an expansion of the debut’s sound toward greater heaviness, melody and dynamics.
CROWNSHIFT began as a shared vision among four friends. Its members bring histories with Nightwish, Children Of Bodom, Wintersun and Finntroll, while the group’s own material draws together melodic death metal, modern metal and progressive influences. The announcement also reports international press acclaim and chart impact for the debut, without specifying chart positions.
The nine-song follow-up continues that approach, pairing technical playing with melodic songwriting and atmospheric arrangements. Purchase and pre-save options for The Shadows We Buried are available alongside the new single and its official video.
