EDVENTURED – puts melody before complexity on debut album ‘Symmetry in Chaos’

For Eddie Krakov, the scientific and psychological concepts behind EDVENTURED’s debut album Symmetry in Chaos share a musical priority: keeping an emotional connection with the listener. The Canadian songwriter, vocalist and keyboardist released the album on digital platforms on October 30, 2026, following a full-stream premiere on BraveWords.

“Musically, I wanted to create something progressive without losing the emotional connection to the songs. There are complex ideas and structures, but melody and emotion always come first,” Krakov says.

Symmetry in Chaos draws on nine scientific, psychological and philosophical theories across a ten-track program. Its connected narrative examines patterns in human behavior, memory, identity, choices and relationships, taking in chaos theory, game theory, cognitive dissonance, social identity, free will, epigenetics and reciprocal altruism.

Krakov describes the question that started the project: “Symmetry in Chaos began with a simple question: what if the things we call random are actually part of patterns we haven't learned to see? The album grew into a journey through nine different theories, but the deeper I went into them, the more I realized they were not separate ideas.”

He adds: “Chaos theory, psychology, genetics, social behavior, free will, and cooperation all describe different aspects of the same thing – the complicated system we call life.”

The first two singles introduced different parts of that framework. “Shadows We Remember” explores Carl Jung’s theory of the collective unconscious, while “Mental Conflict” addresses the psychological tension of cognitive dissonance. Both tracks have accompanying watch links supplied with the announcement.

EDVENTURED combines progressive rock and progressive metal with atmospheric textures and melodic storytelling. Krakov cites Riverside, OSI, Soen, Spock’s Beard and Dream Theater among his inspirations.

The solo project developed while Krakov was completing mixing and mastering work for Stormy Atmosphere and Timequarium, the progressive rock acts with which he is also known. Songs written during that period grew into a separate project concerned with whether apparent randomness conceals an underlying order.

The album includes contributions from collaborators, among them a duet with Stormy Atmosphere vocalist Teddy Shvets and an appearance by Krakov’s eight-year-old son, Jack Krakov. The announcement does not assign those appearances to specific tracks.

Krakov also envisions a future live presentation using visual storytelling and thematic imagery to extend the album’s concepts into performance.

“I hope Symmetry in Chaos is an album people can listen to for the music, but also return to for the ideas,” he says.
